We haven’t had a challenge yet but next week should tell us something against Fayetteville. How are you guys looking?

Week 1 looked very good, week 2 didn’t play with the intensity of week 1. Both losses. Week 3 the intensity was back and put away a team by a fair margin that traditionally isn’t great. If we could get everyone healthy and play like we have at times we could be a dangerous team. Jury is still out on us as well.

York may be the sleeper team in the Region. I was told that their QB is a stud and he is the engine that makes them go. It will be a good game just glad they gotta come to the Reservation!

York has a lot more than Leffew, who is very good. They have several very fast runners and very good defense. They picked off a pass from Monterey's Montgomery  for a TD and recovered fumbles. They were ahead 34-7 at one point.

Very impressive. I was impressed and won’t lie shocked when I saw the score.

34-7 lead over the highly favored Monterey and the jury is still out? lol

Yep, I haven’t saw how good Monterey is yet this year. A 34-20 over a great Monterey team would mean a lot more than a 30-24 win over a good Monterey team. I’m not saying YAI isn’t a contender, I’m just saying that so far the sample size is to small to say yet. I expected y’all to win region 2 last year and Monterey to be 2nd. I was wrong on both accounts then I could easily be wrong now. My comments weren’t meant as a slight, merely that honestly no one in region 2 has proved anything yet really. Two more weeks will help clear up our region a lot and who is what will become more clear. That’s all my comment was meant to say.

Good win but I sure wouldn't sound the trumpet right yet. This may not be decided until the very last game of the season.

That’s right. It was last year if memory serves correctly. Honestly if I had to pick a favorite today based on perfect so far I’d have to pick Rockwood. Luckily I don’t and there a bunch of ball to play before it’ll get worked out. Everyone is still learning who they are, I like our chance of being in the mix but we could easily be 3rd also. Top 3 teams in our region aren’t separated by much.

Edit: I meant the top 4 teams.

I wouldn't give up on Monterey right yet either.

    • My opinion the 8 teams will be-  Greenback, Wartburg, Gordonsville, Jo Byrns, Eagleville, Bruceton, Dresden, and South Fulton. Gordonsviile is probably the favorite but I wont say it will be an easy road. With the right draw any of the 8 could win it.
    • I understand Gibson Co. will be announced tomorrow with a familiar name. Not sure about So. Gibson.
    • A huge addition to the staff today! Former Hardin Valley legend and Richmond College running back Aaron Dykes was announced as the running backs coach. Rushed for over 3,000 yards at HVA, with 35 total touchdowns. I loved watching in Hardin Valley. I can’t believe he’s at Bearden now. I know he was trying to get a HVA job, I don’t know what happened there and how he ended up at Bearden, but I'm glad he’s here and believe he will be teaching art class as well! What a good get for the staff!!
    • Thoughts? Gordonsville won it last year with a sophomore pitcher and returned almost everybody. Can anyone beat them?
    • I was kind of surprised to read this. I thought the general concision was most programs are going back to natural grass. Personally, I have never liked turf. I see the arguments on both side for or against it. I just never liked them. Also, I did not know there as an impaction test that these fields had to pass. Good stuff OP
