TribalEmpire
Well it's time to really see what the Tribe are made of. The Greene Devils come to J. Fred next Friday night. Someone's 0 has to go. Who will it be?

I haven't followed Greeneville very closely this year, but I do know their 5 -0 and have beat two pretty good teams. DB on the other hand has played 5 terrible teams, their 5 -0 also but only looked good in one game. Then there's that pesky penalty problem. DB has had penalty problems for as long as I can remember but this year is off the charts. 15 penalties for 150 yards tonight. So, I would expect at least 100 yards in penalties against Greeneville. Which has become pretty much the norm. You can't beat a team like Greeneville giving up 100 yards in penalties.

I don't want to judge the whole season based on only one game, but at the Elizabethton game Greeneville had yellow flags every time you blinked. I was impressed with their athletes especially on defense but very lacking in discipline. Hopefully a Greeneville fan who has seen more games can comment, maybe that was just one bad game for the Devils.
B-Ball Fan
Blazer1Set is correct about the GHS penalty situation. They were bad against Betsy, but worse against Mo-West where they racked up 17 or 18 penalties for ~180 yards. Greeneville is 5-0, but this isn’t the same 5-0 that you would have seen from the 2017 and 2018 teams. I thought they’ve looked average thus far. They can’t dominate like the GHS teams of recent years, and the QB is average at best and is sub-par as a passer. I expect a close game, and wouldn’t be surprised to see D-B finally break the losing streak that they’re in(against GHS). As someone mentioned, the D-B schedule hasn’t exactly been a juggernaut up to this point, so we really don’t know what they have either. B-Ball Fan you are correct about the penalties thus far but hopefully Spradlen has that under control now he was quoted before the Volunteer game "There will be some changes on the line this week. We just can’t keep doing the same thing over and over. We have jumped offsides too many times,” Spradlen said. “We have to be more disciplined. We work on those things in practice, but when you get tired during the game you can’t forget those things. Some of our penalties have been because we are playing hard, and I can live with that. But things like jumping offsides we can’t have that.” They had 4 penalties last night for 39 yards It's hard to compare any team to those 2017 and 2018 teams with all there D1 and D2 talent that are starting on Saturday now B-Ball Fan. There might not be another team like that come through Greeneville or NE TN with that much football talent so don't feel like thats a good way to compare this team. QB has been the same starter for three years now and a good game manager. If you believe Greeneville has looked Avg then I'll take it being 5-0 and in the driver seat to meet AC in the Quarters
JDHoss
I haven't seen (obviously, since we live in south Florida) Greeneville this year, but clearly they aren't the caliber of the Caine/Cade Ballard teams, and probably not last year's Greeneville team either. IF D-B can minimize penalties and turnovers, they can pull off what I'd consider a minor upset. Tribe 21 Greeneville 14

Cactus Jack
Greeneville is good, but I think I’m going to pick the Indians in a close one.
EHSTrack06
This will be the first time DB will have to actually play a game. That being said this Greeneville team is night and day from previous ones. Like I said against us vs Boone..if there was a year to get back in the W column for DB it would be this year. blazer1set
Despite all the penalties I still like Greeneville's defense in this one. Let's go Greeneville 20 DB

The penalty situation was better, but it was a completely different situation than the Betsy or MoWest games. I hope I’m wrong about them being average, but I feel they were very average in the only 2 tests that they’ve had (I’m referring to the offense). The 21 points against Elizabethton wasn’t terrible, but I’m not sure what the MoWest game means. They were demolished by Boone, who struggled with Betsy. The Grainger game means nothing because Chuckey-Doak scored 56 against them, and Sullivan East played them close. Watching them last year and this year gives me reason to think if you make Quillen pass, GHS will struggle. Cannon seems to be a better passer, but the offense seems to be geared for a runner like Quillen. I can’t put my finger on it, but the offense never seemed to get into a rhythm against the 2 quality teams this year. I think the defense will keep them in the game against Dobyns Bennett, the question is, can they score?
