Well color me shocked, I figured the cellular telephone, much less a smart phone, hadn’t made its way into ole Jeff City yet. Figured you were using that dial up AOL still and your momma was using the phone so you couldn’t log on.

Yep, we have our own AT&T store and a Walmart where we can buy these smart phones. Heck, I feel like James Bond. I can even call someone on my watch. Crazy. Have you guys had to build a new trophy case for all of those Gold Footballs? I mean, you all have won like 20, right?

It looks like a soggy homecoming in Dumplin Valley tonight. Bring your rain gear

WBIR says rain starting around 7 with heaviest overnight. Hope the field holds up. My senior year, the 1st year of Jefferson County, we played Knox Carter at their field. It had rained all day and there was about 1/2-1" standing water on most of the field. I was starting left defensive tackle and it was miserable to play in that. Unfortunately the Patriots lost, my last game, kinda stunk.

I saw some good battles between Jefferson County and Cocke County in those early years of JC's program.

Great.... I'm guessing you guys allow umbrellas in your stadium?  Guess I won't get to see anything from everyone blocking my view.

D-B doesn't allow umbrellas in theirs, thank God.  Don't want to watch a game in the rain and get wet, don't come.

DB looked better than I was expecting tonight. I thought this one would be a touchdown or less game. But was disappointed in the penalties (7 for 109yrds.)  And that included 3 face mask calls. After last weeks only 2 penalties for 20 yards I was hoping maybe they had figured something out.  I'm just gullible sometimes.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
