Great season for the Toppers. They’ve got nothing to hang their heads about. They improved as the season went on and looked like a dang good football team to me. Nobody expected them to make it as far as they did this year. Moon is one heckuva player and was a lot of fun to watch out there. 

 

Congratulations to Maryville as well on figuring some things out and putting yourselves in position to bring home another State Championship.

Very true, I would never have expected SH to make the 3rd round.    SH and DB are going to end @ Maryville every year but still just to make it to that point and have the opportunity is something to look forward to.      Same with Boone, every year is going to end at either Knox Central or Knox West but it is still the goal to at least make it to that level, keep playing hard and try to improve as the season goes on.      In the end you either have the athletes or you don't and NET 5A/6A does not and never will have the athletes across the board to make it past the Knox County line.

It used to be said "NET doesn't have the athletes". Now it's "NET 5A/6A doesn't have the athletes". Put the coaching staffs from Greenville and Elizabethton at DB, SH, or Boone and you won't be saying 5A/6A anymore. Put Maryville's coaching staff at Science Hill and I guarantee you they'd be sailing right through round 3 by the second year.
