In all fairness though Jackson did not win the award - Something political had to have happened. Absolutely ridiculous system that does not reward the best players.

 

This is thievery and its wrong. I hope if you disagree you can make a case how a one man show can beat a 15-0 state championship resume with a head to head victory by four scores.

I really don’t care what you think of our “losy” football team, but I will say that the committee got this absolutely correct! Mr Jackson was a top 3 football player in this area. He was often the best player on the field in most games. Nobody got robbed here. I am sure WM is a great kid and is much happier winning a state title over a Mr. Football award. Has AC ever had a Mr. Football winner?

Most would take winning a state title over winning Mr. Football 7 days a week and twice on Sunday.

Yes, the head coach for Campbell County won Mr. football when he played QB for AC. I have no problem with who one.  We had a couple games where we had to run the ball because AC QB was having a bad game. AC QB had great stats but was not the best player on the AC team. Fulton kid was the best player on the field. Say this, if the Fulton QB played for AC what kind of season would he have? If AC QB played for Fulton what kind of season would they have?

With a correct system like they do in college actually like it done everywhere than Walker Martinez would have easily been chosen. Say what you want but they have no system whatsoever. Formula and systems are based overall on performance. And as a QB Walker performed and the stats show it. It's a No Brainier. And I would be the first to say they were right on the choice if I could honestly find a truth.

Walker will be fine. It all comes down to facts. Congratulations to Jackson and nothing I have said was meant towards the Mr. Football select. He's an outstanding player. I am glad at least someone won it. Nothing I have complained about will change this outcome but hopefully years to come they can be a lot more transparent and detailed with an explanation. Both players will go on to be great in the community. And I 100% support that. Good job Mr. Football!

If they switched teams, AC qb would have been running for his life in most games. Not sure that is up his alley. He had a great year though and I think he is really dang good football player. I think if Mar Mar plays for AC this year, they still win the whole dang thing. Just my two pennies.

Now I understand why you folks are upset about him not winning. He would be the first legitimate “Maverick” to win it.

He certainly would have been the first Maverick. Just Listen to rerun of Dec 7 Locker Room Chat. A Great program every year and very knowledgeable The Famous two, John SLEEPY Williams and the Great Walter Stair. On Boxcast channel app BBBTV12. These guys are honest and they give nothing but pure common sense. I Try to watch them only in football season and next week they will have my nephew on the 14th Dec. Davey Gillum Defending State Champs and players. Looking forward to  hearing that broadcast. But it's not just a few people that are questioning the sunshine bidding anonymous vote because the committee are not listed specifically. Transparency is a major issue among others. I am trying to do an internal investigation to see who they are and what ties they may have. At worst I am going to try and donate as much as I can afford to each committee member as this should make a difference for who ever gets Mr. Football next year. If you can't beat em than join em.

Character is one of the criteria.  Go back and review my posts about the hazing incident pre season down in Tampa. It's an open secret.  

Some of these kids need to learn how to lose,  with grace.  Apparently so do some adults.
