I'm not saying they broke any rules but it's funny that kids are coming from 40 mlesi away to play there at Alcoa. Not only that this is not your average good football players but the best Carter High has to offer

Players leaving forbetter teams is an everyday thing now. And, happens at most above average teams.

Now, how's this "pay" thing work with NIL deals in TSSAA?

High School kids can get payed for their Name ,Image and Likeness just like college players do. Why West Knoxville? That's where the crazy money is at or where some people wipe their azzes with $100 dollar bills. It's where rich people with big businesses live that won't think a thing if they offered Alcoa's best player $60,000  to do 6 or 7 TV commercials if they'll come over to Catholic or another one of the wealthier schools that have the right money people involved in the football program. There are already a handful of kids doing that already. Two kids signed NIL deals the first day it was allowed that are from Anderson County. Josh Jones could make Maryville and Alcoa his new minor league system to shop from each winter if the right people are on board.

I saw some Carter coaches throwing shade at Alcoa on their Twitter. Probably getting tired of having their players poached. Lost two to bearden and one to Powell last year.

People from Carter despise Alcoa over it.  Have a good friend who is a salesperson for a company I buy building products from and he is always saying something about it. He ask me last summer who Arconic was and I told him The Aluminum Company of America and he said that was the financial source behind it all. I don't know that but he said that was the word going around the Carter Community.

Seymour has had some notable applications. I was shocked to learn of some of the locals out of Knox County that have applied. A lot of Knox County assistants are interested in this job to get their feet wet. I am Captain Guru and I approve this message.

Did they not promote from within?

    • Honestly the A.D. may be powerless at Maryville to some degree versus other schools. I know he has his hands full with GoFan and all the stupid surprises just from the emails he sends out during the season.
    • Harriman was better than what I anticipated. They had good skill guys and a QB that’s gonna make a lot of teams look silly. They had some silly pre snap penalties but it’s just spring and I guess that’s expected.    Oneida looks the part. They are big upfront and got a stable of backs that’s gonna carry them this year. They have a few playmakers at receiver also. They have a new receiver that has only played basketball till this year and he is very athletic. The question is can we find a QB to consistently get them the ball. They played 2-3 kids there and none looked great but they didn’t look awful either. The  defense is gonna be tough again but it’s very early and a lot can change between now and the fall.     It was good just to get out and watch some ball. I don’t know if Oneida has the team to win the region this year but just what I saw tonight I think they may be in the conversation come November.
