I wouldn't call myself a contender when Alcoa has won 8 straight. And the back to back years East Nash made it they got blown out.

Hey JoeyC, Let us know when your DB team makes it out of the first round. A team that plays in the Championship two years in a row is certainly a contender. The game against Alcoa last year was close for the majority of the game.

DB former players, fans, etc... don't know what it takes to make to the Ship or have much success in the playoffs. You are an East TN homer !

Dude, Alcoa would have won the state in every classification up to 5A for many of the past several season. I do not think you understand, Alcoa is playing at a completely different level than everyone else. The Covington team from 18 was the best high school football team I have ever seen and they got beat by Alcoa...

I am an East TN homer you're correct, but you either win the championship or you don't. DB won a championship more recently than East Nash did. Also, even though I went there for high school I'm not really a DB fan. I'm more of an Elizabethton fan. Two of my four years were covid years, and I didn't even go to middle or elementary school in Sullivan county.
