Ohhh interesting… Spill the beans and i’ll tell you who the next next coach of HRB is …

I really don't know the answer to that, just someone that applied and feels good about his chances. Also, not trying to be smug or a know it all about this or any of these situations, but I feel that any and all announcements of this nature should be made public only by those involved. In a perfect world a new hire should be in the presence of the team that he's joining when they hear who the new coach is, and likewise if the coach has to leave someplace to accept a new job, it should be his decision as to how and when he says his goodbye's... in this time of social media both are simply not possible, but that doesn't give me (or anyone else) the privilege of "breaking the story" just to appear to be in the know.

Adam Dowland is the new coach at WC. I figured they'd go Dixon but I guess Dowland's experience won out. Good luck Coach

Me too but Dowland earned it . Will Dixon stay you think ?

Well our defense was the best unit on last year's team by far. So I reckon it could be worse. I think Dixon will stay. Could be wrong. But he's the head baseball coach too so I'm sure he'll stay until he finds a similar setup at a bigger school or Greenfield

I was doing some research , Coach Dowland was a head coach before at Caruthersville High School and once a offensive coordinator at shelbyville .. just thought it was interesting he has a background on both sides of the ball

I didn't know any of that. Just knew he was good playing back in his day at Greenfield. Dowlands not really a chatty guy even on the live show they do. But that's good to know and was probably the deciding factor in his hiring.

Yep he was the head coach at Caruthersville High School. However, what people are failing to mention is he was fired for making racist comments about the students at Caruthersville. His now ex exposed him and sent the text messages out.

This is wrong on so many levels. He didn't make any racist comments at all. What was said was someone taking his words and twisting them to make it sound racist. I know for a fact that nothing racist was said in those messages. Coach Dowland has coached at Lake County, Shelbyville and at Hopkinsville, Ky. If he were racist I highly doubt he would have coached at those places. I know him personally and he is not that kind of guy. All this is doing is trying to smear his name. I am not saying you are at all. For all I know you are just quoting what someone else told you. I just hate to see someone name get smeared without the actual facts. Oh he was not fired. He left on his on. No one mentioned the fact that some players at Caurthersville stole a bunch of shoes and other things from another school in Missouri. Adam wanted to discipline the kids by suspending them from playing football for that season and was not supported at all by the administration. The administration wanted them suspended for 1 game. That is what led to all of these rumors.

I don't care if he is your friend and I don't care where he has coached. The text messages were made public on Facebook for all the world to see. And only a fool would be able to read said messages and be not be able to read the subtle racial undertones in those messages. No, he's coached at those places you mentioned simply because it was opportunities to win and pad resumes. Insinuating that he wouldn't coach at these schools simply because they have large black student athletes, in which you yourself is implying in not so many words is crazy. You can defend what you what, when you want. I'm college educated and I know racial comments, messages and texts when I read them.

May just be the problem right there! Far left leaning liberal professors implant racism into students minds to the point that they often see it clearly when it's not there at all.

You believe what you want. That is your business. I will believe what I want and will leave it at that. We will just have to agree to disagree. The facts are what they are. Again I know for a fact about the situation. I am done with this and will not comment further about this matter.

Smart move. I know some pretty wise people who could learn from this post...and I too will leave it at that.

I am not a lawyer, but I know school law in and out.  Similar situations just like this play out thousands of times each year across the country, even at the college level (i.e. Ole Miss)  The Plaintiff's never win...ever.  If I am wrong, please provide a legal precedent for me. • Yes Justin Cruse was named head coach
    • It used to be, I think it still is, a change of 20% +/- gives reason to reclassify. Schools can choose to play up classifications but not down. Here is the mid cycle reclassification info on TSSAA.org When Memphis East changed from a regular public school to an "all-optional" school in 2017 the would've dropped to A but chose to stay in AAA in basketball (baseball, and softball) Penny was still coaching there and with the players they had they would've beaten A teams by 40 and slept walked to the championship. Other Memphis schools stayed in their classifications (mostly in basketball) until the next reclassification cycle. Of course this is the same time that a 4th class was added basketball.
