cbg
Will this be the beginning of the end for the Tennessee private schools competing under the umbrella of the TSSAA? IMO, the minute the private schools were forced into divisions that have less that 50 teams they should have terminated all contracts with the TSSAA and formed a private school league that is separate from the TSSAA. The only thing that the TSSAA and the public schools want from the private schools is money!

If privates were to "go out on their own" they would truly be doing that. Catastrophic insurance coverage would have to be picked up by a much smaller group. A whole new governing body that somehow would not promote their schools' own interest over the group as a whole. would have to be implemented. No national Association membership. If you think recruiting is bad now, it would further dvide the financial haves and have nots. You might be surprised to find you would be part of a, maybe, 10 team island.
Deeper
I've never seen a team lose as many games by less than 10 points in one season than BA.

Let’s understand that each individual private school has catastrophic insurance in place now. That theory (scare tactic) that the TSSAA has always promoted is old and is not true. What about those prep schools in the Northeast that are not members of their local state athletic association? Look at IMG Academy in Florida, they play a national schedule. Do you think for one minute that they don’t have CATASTROPHIC INSURANCE? It’s time for the Tennessee Private Schools to put on their DEPENDS. This would only work if ALL of the private schools in Tennessee would stick together.

They won’t all stick together and they don’t want to govern themselves. It would be a nightmare per people on the board and multiple head masters. It’s not going to happen any time soon. BA isn’t a team I want to see on my side of Mont Eagle. They are about 21 pts way from being 9-1 or 8-2. Defensively weak but really dangerous on offense. How do they lose by 35, which was Ryan's last win? I do not think BA has learned how to win with this new coaching staff as the talent seems to be there. Maybe low football IQ? Maybe play with no heart? With LA out, McCallie & Baylor are the obvious favorites, however I feel D2-3A is wide open. MBA with a first round bye at 4-6??
