What's going on in Sweetwater with the coach suspension.

The problem is, that those who are not part of this program, know more than everyone in it. You feel bad for a coach who doesn’t put the best 11 on the field. Give me a break. This is no longer about a football program but about hurting someone’s feelings because they can’t see talent. So you would punish the whole team for one kid. What is also bad is that the players see it and know who should be playing. But let’s not worry about the whole team just the one player and the “coach”.

The players and parents knew about this situation before the season started, I was at the jamboree, and when the backup QB came in I looked at a Sweetwater fan and said he will be the starter before the season is over, and he replied back and said, no he won’t because the other kid is the coaches son.  I don’t feel bad for the coach but I feel bad for his son, and to put his son in that situation knowing that he shouldn’t be out there, that tells you a little something about his constantly, and not a very good role model for the players.

If that was the problem they should have waited until after the season. Not a soul would have known what was going on or even cared.

So what ever happen to AD Mike Martin and Principal Eric Weaver?  I saw they had new admin this year?  That town is full of crazy unrealistic people who still rub one out on the '71 & '72 golden balls that Toss Right/Toss Left got them, but no way these guys were involved in this dumpster fire or were they????  Sweetwater still has that poor man's crack barrel so it's not total rock bottom yet.  Go Tigers!

Example of an idiot fanbase.  People all over the state are laughing.  No excuse whatsoever to suspend the coach.  Does the next coach have to get the lineup approved?

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but Slover did an incredible job turning Cocke County into a playoff team back in the 2010s. The coaching job that he did there in Newport was pretty remarkable. I'm guessing that wasn't lost on the administration when he interviewed for the job at Sweetwater. Granted, he didn't have the same level of success while at Morristown East, but I still think it's worth noting.

Not much else that I can add to this thread that hasn't already been said  :D

Wow. You must be one of the offenders. If the rest of the state thinks a program is foolish  but the ppl apart of the program make excuses and trying to manipulate the situation, who is wrong lol? Ridiculous

That is big talk over a message board.  You know where I stand on the situation.  You will never convince me that an entire team or program should go down with the coach or coaches.  You can blame the fans the parents or the administrators. I don’t really care.  This is not pee-wee football. He is a coach and if he can’t take the heat then that is on him.

I have nothing to do with the program and I’m not a fan, but if a coach is playing a kid just because it’s his son and not because of his talent, that’s wrong for many reasons. The school had a tough decision to make.

Exactly and ppl are saying should have waited til the end of the season? How is that fair to the one that should be playing? How is that fair to the assistant coaches who asked him to make a change? How is it fair to the seniors who asked him to make a change?  Slovers comments were disrespectful and confusing for ppl outside of the program. Slover got what he deserved. He put his son in a terrible spot as well.

It’s ironic that y’all are crying daddy ball but all the while you’re saying you it’s ok for sweetwater ppl to play buddy ball. That’s why SHS celebrated going 8-2 like they will celebrate beating Chatt Central or Polk County like the freshmen is Peyton Manning. I feel terrible for that boy. It’s like the Baby Gronk situation where the parents & the small town politics will bring unnecessary hate. I hope the kid goes D1. I hope Slover does too. For a sophomore playing varsity he did pretty good. If Dacus beats chatt central & Polk county it is no different than Slover’s performance. If he completes 4 passes but they gave it to that RB and they win with the running game, the word around town will be Dacus is the end all beat all. My point is that you all wasn’t going to give them a chance any ways. Programs like that hold kids back and I’m not surprised no kid has signed an ncaa football scholarship from there in ages. What some of them parents need to do is come up the interstate towards Knoxville. They will get treated right!
