Old Pirate says us old timers take pride in seeing the valley kinfolkes do well. Obviously the valley had the best overall showing in several years!   Congratulations to all the youngsters for making great memories while learning the art of earholing. Win or lose respect is earned & deserved for going into battle each week. For those teams who hung up the cleats for this season, the time now is to re-focus on the next goal. Meanwhile, The Pirates 100th season goal is far more immediate with the Tigers from Gordy coming to the Speedway Friday night. The Tigers surely have their eyes & focus on stopping the Pirate Ship from sailing.    The Pirates surely have had this matchup in the back of their minds all season. While this game is only the next rung on the latter to play for Gold, there certainly is a thought of “Unfinished Business” due to last season’s  ending loss at the hands of the Tigers from Gordonsville.                 Best come early for the Only Fueding in the valley Friday night. Should be a Dandy. YepReconSo

That it will be. The first game was incredible. I can only imagine what it will be like for all the marbles.

The first game was a game of mistakes. Could have easily went the other way. I am hearing a possible 20k at this one with some HUGE coaching names in attendance.

    • Sorry Barn. I wasn’t specific enough. It seems I’m always protecting the principal at 825. My interactions with her have been extremely positive, but very limited. With all the other stories being told, I’m confident there are other sides I am not aware of. Regardless, there are lots of decent people earning good checks up there. Maybe too good, which explains why no one is willing to speak up. My beef is with the poor communication among the athletic programs and with the administration. Seven years ago the poor communication led to my son missing graduation due to a sporting event that was planned months before. I chalked it up to the system being totally shocked that the baseball team made it out of their district, and our then AD was a football coach. Maybe they were surprised and did not plan appropriately. That was more palatable than they just didn’t give a crap. Déjà vu, seven years later, same thing. Different administration, but same result.  Maybe in seven more years, it will actually be “about the kids”. They should do better.
