West has over recruited and underachieved. Since Brown has gotten there they have done a good job of getting kids in but the fact that this is only going to be their 2nd championship should be considered underachieving. They have been LOADED for years on talent but it took too long to get over the hump. It will be forgotten as long as the staff stays and they are in 5A because they will continue this roll for the foreseeable future

There are over 15 (public) high schools in Knox County no one school can dominate year in and year out, thats why you have so many state champion year to year from the Knoxville area. So this “recruiting”you say is not accurate. Coach Brown had great teams At Morristown before he got to Knox West so he deserves his credit. And this years team isnt even “LOADED” but still managed to return to state.

HVA, Farragut, Bearden, Karns, West, SD, AE, Fulton, Central, Gibbs, Halls, Powell, & Carter are the only high schools listed on the KCS zoning map. Thats 13 by my count. He did have a couple good teams at mo west. This team isn't loaded like it was in the years past but still has plenty of talent. If you don't know that recruiting goes on at west and any decent knox county school you have your head in the sand or are ignorant. Heck every school in the state is recruiting.

Can you provide any proof of any of this or do you just "Know"?

You left out L&N Stem Academy (In the AE Zone) & Career Magnet Academy (In the Carter Zone) which are part of the Knox County School System (They don't have a zone but are marked on the KCS Zoning Map).

As far as the recruiting. If I did have proof or if I didn't then I wouldn't post it here. I don't want to turn anyone in and I don't blame schools for trying to do it. Lane Kiffen said it best, "If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying". I just get tired of school A blaming schools B, C, Etc for why they don't have players when they just aren't as successful at recruiting. Everyone would do it if they could. Quit making that an excuse for being bad.

Zoom in on the Map you just sent and you will see L&M Stem (Inside the AE Zone) and Career Magnet Academy (Inside the Carter Zone) which are also part of the Knox County Public School System

It was SMU Coach Sonny Dykes that said, "If you ain't cheatin.....".  Joey Freshwater just repeated it.

Where's the proof of the recruiting?  There's a common belief that everyone does it, but I happen to think that's simply not true.

      That would have been Coach Benjamin who was his legal Guardian and the DB coach.  I was the LB's Coach that was barely older than the players (I was going to UT for school and had started at Greeneville since my Sophomore year when Z coached there and he asked me to help coach)

      Going on over a month now and still nothing, rumor mill or not I think a decision needs to be made. Maybe they don’t have anyone wanting it and maybe rumor mill don’t need it they are taking this long to come to an agreement.

      Gibson County proved last year you can win it all with 6 players and if I’m not mistaken they only played 5 in the championship game. I would expect them to be good by end of season but I think losing Hart is a huge loss.  Summer camp gives teams a preview of what to expect and it’s exciting to see where teams are at. The Fillies return 3 starters and the 6th man that is 6’2” and I think she is going to surprise folks this season.
