Marion looks to be going all in on this years team. ER dominated last year with a Freshman QB and a lot of sophomores. Gonna take a little bit more for me to put the warriors over the Indians.

Warriors just hoping to make the playoffs.

Last Old Pirate knowd, Jailhouse High needs to start tything to pay off the 30K uh for not playing not just once, But twice in the same year. Did you kinfolkes ever collect tithes to pay Pruitt what you owed him from his 1st tour round the Jailhouse? LOPWOAO

The warrior’s have had the players and team to advance far in the playoffs if not win it all from the previous years but the lack at the top has been their problem. Until that is resolved, it will be the same ole song this year regardless of how many players you bring in. Some will agree and some won’t!!!

Ran into a better team last year honestly. The year before was a sophomore led team that was still learning. The year before lost one of the most dynamic players they've ever had at qb in the last game of the regular season. One of the best coaches in Alabama high school history couldn't overcome that.

I'll disagree with the "lack at the top" thing. Most folks around here know why that shot is taken by some. I ain't jokin either.

“Lack at the Top”, Old Pirate says Jasper has the swinging door coach syndrome. Every poor showing results in the ditching of Rose Colored Glasses. Jasper’s best coach in decades was Pruitt, a Legend below the border is based on success and consistency. Coach Starkey should do good, he was taught by Vic. Leastways, he got away from that Puke Purple! Figure coaching all that Puke Purple would surely cause nausea sometimes on Friday night. That should be applauded fer sure! LOPAO

    • The golf preseason came to a close Friday at Indian Hills as the I-24 Invitational hosted by Rockvale was contested. Webb School won the title by 13 shots 295-308 over Rockvale. Rockvale girls won the title by five shots over Providence  Christian 155-`160 after the Lions won the 1913 Invitational at Johnson City by 10 shots over Greeneville. The course was wet and muddy in the morning but the rain finally broke and some good scores were had. The Webb School boys had Phet Phothong score a 69 while Carter  Burks shot 70 following up his 72 in Johnson City on Monday. The girls had Solia Mechling of Rockvale lead the way with a 73 in taking the title as they improved their score by 30 shots over Monday in East Tennessee as they found the homestead Indian Hills to their liking.  Rockvale and Central Magnet will head to the Battle of Hermitage on Wednesday July 31st. On Tuesday Stewarts Creek and Smyrna will do battle at Smyrna Golf Course  with an early tee time of 11 AM. The next day Oakland, Webb and Nolensville will tee off at Champions Run beginning at 9 AM. Eagleville will open on July 29th heading to Lawrenceburg and the Country Club awaiting host Lawrence County and several other teams to tee up the regular season. The season will end in October at Sevierville when state champions will be crowned.
