I never said metro does not have a few good coaches. It is obvious that the schools that have done well have had some of the best talent. Could they win at the schools where talent has not been as good? Broome is leaving because the talent is down and up at Antioch. You mentioned 5 schools that have done well, and 4 of the  schools that did well did  at a low classification. I do not Alexander , I just hope the next coach at Overton stay and develop a program and not leave because of talent. I have great respect for public school coaches in metro and Tennessee that coach for the kids and just not the wins. I do express my thoughts and do not intend to do anything other than encourage other comments.

Nobody wins without talent. No matter how you dice it , talent matters .

Broome is getting a better deal financially as well but would you turn down a pay raise and you can work for a friend ?

What does lower classifications mean in the state championship game? You can't fault a school where they fall, it's not like everyone is walking into a state cause of lower classifications . The problem with metro is not the coaching it's the BOE , lack of support , lack of funds and lack of jobs in the middle . Metro will continue to lose the good coaches they have if this isn't fixed

Pay raise? So different metro schools pay different? Lower classifications means most all season the competition is weaker for the most part. I am just saying it is easier to get the state championship at a lower classification. Why is it that the numbers of players at metro schools does not relate to the size of the school? Why are the size of the teams and talent  at the smaller schools greater ?

If there is a pay raise of any kind it is through either an additional supplement for something else or a booster club. Metro is all paid from the same kitty. Same supplement schedule. Hurricane might want to straighten that statement out. It ain't a pay raise as a football coach that is for certain.

I don't know about a booster club or stipend , but I was told he is a 12 month employee instead of 10 month which is a significant pay bump with the years he has been invested .

Metro has had really good coaches, and really bad coaches. Yes kids get the credit when a team wins, and coaches take the heat when they lose. Always been this way I suppose. As for metro being the only county sending multiple schools to state......

Rutherford: Riverdale, Oakland, Smyrna

Williamson: Brentwood, Ravenwood, Indy, Summit

Only difference is these are schools that won, not just went. Come on now metro coaches deserve credit but don't act like they are the cream of the crop as a whole.

A dean is a 10 month employee. Administration is 12 month and he can't be that and coach in Metro. That is why he is a Dean. He may get put in charge of credit recovery/summer school, but that is increased workload to get a pay raise. He could have done that at JOHS. You can spin that as a pay raise, but it is doing a lot more work to get it.

Ron Lambert, Congrats to him

What a clown.  Just another clown to add to the metro circus.

Do some digging at why he left Rossview??????

Many better candidates that interviewed IMO.

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
