I’ll take the field against Dyersburg. What you want to put on it?

South Side will be a handful too. Upperman and White County as well. I agree it won't be easy for Dyersburg. They will be the most talented. I do think Strayhorn will emphasize  closing out games with leads. South Side is not losing anyone either. Upperman and White County bring a lot back too right???

South Side loses Currie.  They will still be very good, but she is a big loss on both ends of the floor.

You are right. I forgot about her. Hawk told me early in the year that they were super young.

Yes it takes breaks and even luck to win it all, but the money is on Dyersburg to go back to back. We are losing three irreplaceable Seniors as each brings a very unique piece to the program. However, there is depth on the varsity roster and more pieces coming from the middle school.

As far as the pressure goes, you have to respect the fact that the Lady Trojans were not flying under anyone’s radar this season after making it to the state quarters then year before. They embraced the target, lived up to the hype, and won the gold ball under the most impossible of circumstances. Yes I am a homer, but there is no way I would bet against Dburg. And not only do I expect them to run the table, I see a Miss Basketball Finalist recognition coming next season.

They will be preseason number 1 for sure. They had a 5 point lead with the ball with a minute left against Upperman and like to ended bad. Gibson County has stuff to improve on as well and Dyersburg needs to improve big time in that category. No need in taking shots up 5 with the ball. Seen that happen more than once.

I completely agree with you. But going back to the Upperman game the five point lead was with 3:18 remaining. Two missed shots and two turnovers gave the Lady Bees a 6-0 run in 1:49. We entered the final minute trailing.

I saw late lead management happen in another postseason game and asked on a broadcast why we are not forcing the other team to foul.

I thought it was later but anyway I thought Dyersburg could have pulled it out some watching them in postseason. Hey they won so that's all that matters. I think Dyersburg will be preseason number 1. South Side, Upperman and White County will all be in the Gold Ball mix for sure. Look forward to seeing Coach and chatting with him. Congrats to y'all again.

Only one coming up from middle school that will play most likely replace one senior they are losing

I really appreciate the kind words. I was court side for Gibson County's win and had a blast. I went up and visited with fans a couple of times and had a great experience. While many stayed, some had to get back on the road and wanted to know how to listen to the game. I've said more than once that Gibson County has always been one of my favorite places to call a game in the brief five years I've been helping the cause. And the irony is that my daughter was a student in Gibson County as a Kindergarten student when we returned to west Tennessee. With that said, she would've had a gold ball either way. LOL

Yep she won two Gold Balls this year then right?? Do love the fact TSSAA has allotted lots of time between games for these Title Games. I have been blessed to be there for 4 Gold Balls and a Silver Ball for Gibson County. Thing about winning the Gold Ball is the celebration after: the photos, the hugs, the team comes out and coaches....Some times we end up at the players hotels. All lots of fun but some times we miss the other Title Games. Dyersburg I stayed and watched and was very happy for y'all. Coach Strayhorn has done a ton for girls basketball in West Tennessee. Proud for him and Dyersburg and all y'all. Winning the Gold Ball is a great feeling every time you win it. I enjoy watching other teams get to experience it. Some teams and fans are all about themselves and jealous but  I ain't like that and will never be. Congrats again.
