yes that is correct

Well, if y’all get antsy to see some high school football before the Tomcats get started, I’ll invite you to take the short drive to Covington and watch our season opener hosting Munford. The game is Thursday, 8/22 at 7 PM.

All Tomcat fans are welcome to sit on our home side. Wear your purple and white, cause it’s not too far from our purple and gold. If it’s like tonight’s jamboree, it’s $10 cash at the gate, or $8 online at GOFAN.

    • South Pitt guys: Marion by 4 scores. They are unstoppable. So much talent. On to Chattanooga. Also South Pitt guys: South Pitt has their work cut out for them this week against Copper Basin. Really have to play mistake free ball to have a chance. This team is young. Have a lot to overcome. Big underdogs every week.
    • Honestly,  I hope "they are just another person that walked the halls" even in season.  Schools that are doing anything to make athletes feel more important than other students are doing society and those athletes a disservice.  You've revealed your very flawed world view.  Best of luck.
    • the discipline issues haven’t been fixed which worries me going into tougher games
    • Story time with uncle Crow! The story of how Oneida came to be a “mini UT” is interesting and not widely know. I will give some highlights and also give the disclaimer that I will probably miss a few details or possibly just flat out get something wrong but the broad strokes as I’ve been told are this. Back in the day the Oneida colors were blue, yellow and white but the equipment was quite worn and needed replacing. Like a lot of schools in the 50’s (I believe that’s the correct time period) money wasn’t readily available. As luck would have it the Oneida coach was a recent former UT player/graduate and still was connected to the university some way. Lots of details being left out but long story short there was a load of old equipment that found its way up here to supply the Oneida program. Of course the catch was obviously the colors didn’t match so the colors were changed to orange and white and many of the Oneida traditions that are still in place today were started as a tip of the hat for their assistance and are either a version of or in some cases a direct copy of the university’s traditions.  To quote Mike Rowe, Anyway, that’s the way I heard it.
