Giles County Tournament Action Report

This is all I have. Information supplied to WKSR by e-mail shows that Giles County was a 60-47 winner over Maplewood High School. Maplewood, ranked #2 in AAA, had only one loss prior to last night's loss to the Bobcats and that was to Columbia. Columbia also lost yesterday to Blackman in the Father Ryan Classic

I believe they beat Covington and Memphis Melrose...

giles county beat maplewood 60-47,ripley 66-56 and covington 71-50.there were two better teams giles didnt play in the tournament,bolivar and dyre county.i knew ripley would give them a test although giles county pulled it out after traling earlier i heard.

How did Tyler Smith play ? If anyone finds a direct weblink to box scores ect please post it.

it's time that tennessean's top 10 realize that a good maplewood team now has 3 losses and are soid, but that giles county, despite losses to bob jones of huntsville and columbia, is potentilally among the elite in the state in most any class

Tennessean's top 10 seems to be a little bit biased among teams around Memphis and Nashville. I mean, GC only lost to Columbia 71-64.

 

I understand that Columbia pretty much shut down the Cats, but Travis Gentry really sparked the team with some late mop-up 3 pointers and given another minute GC woulda had to have brung the starters back in. Also as I was watching that game I noticed that with about 30 seconds left every time GC or Columbia made a shot, the clockkeeper let the clock run. I thought it was supposed to stop once under 2 mins. in the 2nd and 4th quarters?

 

But come on Tennessean, give the Bobcats some love!
