Coach Joe, How many mats will be in use during the tournament? Will Varsity, JV, and Freshman tournaments all be going on at the same time? How many officals does a tournament of this magnitude use?

My compliments. You are definitely a class act.

 

One of least favorite things about wrestling is the seeming confusion at the start. Things are scheduled to start at 9:00 AM and finally get rolling at 10:30! And then have to go behind schedule forever.

 

Nobody but coaches seems to know what the schedule is. Nothing is posted and when it is, it is usually so far behind as to be meaningless.

 

It's almost as bad as going to track meets and cross country matches - which never start on time (except this year's state championship).

 

Please keep up the good work. It will be a pleasure for me to contribute to your program this weekend. Some of us very, very much appreciate your organizational skills and concern for the public.

Thank you for the kind words, trackman. I hope we don't disappoint this weekend by not having a smooth tournament. As far as the website and brackets you really should thank my assistant and webmaster (computer geek), Jarrod Ruez and tournament director, Brad Fiscus. These guys have really taken a lot of the load off of me this year. Thanks, fellas.

Is anybody willing to speculate on the order of the top five teams? Are Clarksville, Overton, and Soddy Daisy sure bets to be in the top five? What about Cookville, Kenwood, and Smyrna? Does Brentwood or Franklin have a shot? Any others?

Just a wild guess but here it is

1. Soddy (Because they are Soddy)

2. Clarksville (Purple is a nice color)

3.Franklin (Someone from Region 5 has to be here)

4.Ft. Campbell (Army Brats are tuff)

5.Overton (I hate to say it but Overton looks pretty good)

Coach Blair: Have you been able to put together any brackets, team info, etc. for the freshmen and JV tournaments like you have for the varsity teams? Good job on the varsity stuff by your webmaster/computer geek, by the way. Sometimes those guys do come in handy.

Freshmen and JV brackets will not be posted on the website. Too many changes and scratches take place. The schedule for JV and varsity will run pretty much the same. Freshmen usually ends around 2:00 on Saturday.

 

On a personal note, I can't wait til Sunday.
