Rabbitt
thats like asking whats better NAIA or Div 1. in college?how many teams are in div. 2 like 14 or something? div. 1 is way better than div. 2. state champion to state champion it would be close, but overall div. 1 is way tougher. it would be cool to have a duel match between d1 and d2 state champs. Mobee1
Here we go again..............of course it's DI.
Guest westtenwrestlin
I think D2 is better just from watching the Ryan tournament. Most the top wrestlers from D2 beat the top wrestlers from D1 from what I saw. But I'm not sure their is great wrestlers in both D1 and D2. gablefan
D2 "might" have better state champs, but the competition in D2 is so bad that there really isn't an arguement here. D1 is way too deep.
Guest frwrestling1112
D2 is harder to win it in but D1 is harder to place in
TNwrestler
If DII state champs wrestled DI state champs, DII would win. But if DII placers (3,4,5,6) wrestled DI placers, then DI would win. As for the dual tournament, we may never know. However, DI and DII are pretty much equal. A DI team could be the best one year and then the next a DII could be best. Just my opinion. sly
To Westtenwrestlin, What top DI wrestlers were at the Ryan tournament that helped you come to your conclusion that DII was better than DI? What top DI teams were at the Ryan tournament? From what I recall Farragut which isn't a top 15 team may have been the highest ranked DI team at Ryan so I don't think that you were really seeing the best of DI. Ryan of course is the top DII school at this time. You are entitled to your opinion of course but I was just wondering about your reasoning. Guest pummeler
hey i wrestled in d2 for two years. i never wrestled well at state individual but i always placed. if i wouldnt have wrestled well in a d1 tournament i wouldnt have placed. but i think the d2 champs may be better wrestlers but the deepness of all the schools in d1 make it a tougher division. i wish they would get rid of the divisions and have one state champion thats my opinion
mtnrasslin
I'm with you Pummeler. One division would settle all this wouldn't it.
cw160
Not all D2 would be champions. In fact, I think it would be very close, and that will change from year to year. Sly is right. After the top level, D1's would walk away with it. D1 is too deep. Forget it. The split is here and it's here to stay - unless there's something worse to come along.
