What if Campbell got the job at HL? Does Broome then become the frontrunner for the Stratford job? Does this affect the McGavock position or not? What about Smith at Ezell? Would he have an opportunity to coach at Antioch if that position became available? Who are the finalists for the HL and McGavock positions?

It is not open right now. Mcphail has not been there but 2 years. I thought that since Ezell is in the Antioch area, he would know the community better. Antioch is now the largest High School in the State.

The lists at each school have already been named in this thread, but subtract Ron from the HL list, as he did not interview.

Rumor-- Scott Smith seen in Mcgavock office today, but still on for Monday's interviews. Note: Ezell higher ups not happy about his interviewing for the jobs.

Mike Jones, the former DL for the Titans has shown some interest in the McGavock job. Is he certified? Does it matter if he isn't certified? Wasn't Steve Jones (UT signee) his son or adopted son?

You must be a certified teacher to be a head football coach in Tennessee at a public school. There is an exception to the rule, but it would never apply to Metro Nashville schools.

The way that I see things Ezell only has a few choices with regard to Smith looking at other employment opportunities.

1. Fire him which would allow him to take another job and go back and beat Ezell on a regular basis.

2. Pay him more money and keep him at Ezell with a long term contract.

3. Do nothing and hope he stays.

 

You can never be upset with someone that tries to better themself.
