who are the top 5 wrestlers in the last ten years?

is the question "who was the best" or "who was the most successful"? mctorry did better nationally, but i believe that nelson did better in the state. since the poll is restricted to wrestlers in this state, shouldnt the choice be according to who was the best in the state?

No... not necessarily. Markese Nelson and Charles McTorry were about equal in high school success. Maybe what you are saying is that Nelson beat McTorry. And that is very well tru. However, McTorry was a junior, and I don't think I would be going out on a limb to say that McTorry was better in his senior year than Nelson was in his senior year. But that's just my opinion, and I'm sure there are plenty who would disagree.

i saw where someone had hunter stapp on their list. why would you put him on the list he never won a state championship and clarksville's jason pennington is way better than stapp ever was and sadly neither won a state title but i gotta say pennington got extremely close this year. i dont really have a list cause i havent been around wrestling as long as some of you but stapp would not be on mine. i would stick with guys like keller and simpson and mccarty and wells.

As far as Bradley wrestlers go....Heath Eslinger is far and away better than Keller, Blackmon, etc. He may not have been a four timer but head to head he'd would have killed them. And he regularly did as an assistant coach at Bradley before moving on to coach at UTC.

Right! But that was after he had completed Collegiate Wrestling. And he had year's of experience on these two. I really don't think that he would've been able to beat these two head-2-head back in the day...And I'm not downplaying Heath either. Cause he was a great wrestler. I should know he started ahead of me at UTC. L8er!!!

When sweeton wrestled Mcarty he dropped weight just for the competion, this was the case in most of his losses. there was not many people that won state 3 times or wrestled with half the intensity that he did. I am not saying that he was the best because if he was he would have won all 4 years, but he is one of the top in the last ten years.

DMX- You should recall, Thompson beat Nelson, not the other way. And Thompson had a winning record against McTorry. Nelson never beat Thompson, and McTorry just beat Thompson the one time, in overtime, in the state finals.

simpson never showed me anything better than what these guys did....and by the way, the subject was five wrestlers not just one so if you cant think of five then dont post just one

 

I have a question. Does the fact that Simpson placed 3rd at the NCAA's show you anything?
