longsack, most of yours are probably right but i dont htink the dca one is correct, jeremy lions was very good, i polayed against him, he made it look like he was a man upon boys. but the best player dca has ever had i would have to say is the guy named scooter that played in the late 80's i believe. he won mr football 2 years in a row i believe.

Good choice I saw him play almost everyone of his games but I played with Randy Payne. Even though his criminal record is longer than his football record he did things on the field that were unbelievable.Too bad he had millon dollar skills and a ten cent brain. :(

The best player ever to come out of Dobyns-Bennett is a very hard choice, so take your pick. The two that automatically come to mind are Bobby Dodd and Bobby Cifers. Now that's a pretty hard choice. Both played college and pro ball. Dodd went on to have Georgia Tech's stadium named after him and Cifers went to UT was all world. Some other people to choose from would be Mike Faulkerson-Delaney(played at UNC and then with several pro teams), possibly Jeremy Graves, Adonis Johnson, and several other kids who were great high school players. Tribe fans, let me know what you think.

Pepvol,

Maryville was the state champion that year but like I said we only had an 8 game schedule. You had to win 8 games to make the playoffs. We had a loss. We didn't have the luxury of having a bad game. Either way for a while Maryville & loudon was equally matched. Remember in 75? 4 overtimes in the regular season and 2 overtimes in the playoffs. Anyway it's good to talk to someone who remembers those years. It seems so long ago. Good Luck to your rebels.

Off the top of my head two come to mind. First Ed "too tall" Jones of JCM, TSU,Dallas Cowboys. He was a three year all-state, two time All-American, no. 1 player taken in the 76 draft, nine time all-pro, two time superbowl winner, and is credited with the idea of blockingdeflecting the quarterbacks passes with his hands. Second would be Al Wilson of JCM, Tennessee, Denver Broncos. Two time all-state, three time All-SEC, All-American 98, 98 NCAA national Championship, selected in the first round of the 99 NFL draft, three time all-pro and counting. Look out, they say the Brookes kid that just graduated and signed with UT is far better than wilson was coming out of JCM.
