Catalyst
I know this has been topic of discussion before but I recently heard what happened with Portland and MLK. Should there be a shot clock?
OSHSman
I think so. If kids are going to play college ball, they might as well get used to it.
smelly
there should be a shot clock in high school bball....cuz it would help good players learn 2 play with time...and how 2 use the time wisely...probably not a 24 sec clock like in the NBA....but something like the college leve shot clock...whatever it is... splainshornet
Please discuss what happened for those who do not know what happened, which I am a member of that fraternity. Celinadawg18
the ncaa shot clock is 36 seconds i do believe.
XtremeLoco
I believe there should be one, some times with a lead with less than 4mins left in the game just try to hold the ball for the rest of the game. But still since there isn't one that is the smart thing to do, even if it does make the other team very mad.
Opperman
NCAA men's shot clock is 35 seconds, women's is 30 seconds. There is no need for a shot clock in high school basketball. If a team doesn't want to play defense, they have no right to complain when the other team doesn't make them play defense.
PanzyFan
For those who don't know what happened in the Portland-MLK game, MLK held the ball the entire, I repeat, the entire 4th quarter. They were down by two. They were called for travelling with 10 seconds left. Portland did not take a shot, and won 25-23.
480vac
I think that a shot clock would be great, but I don't think that it is possible because of the amount of money it would cost to install shotclocks in every high school gymn in the state. splainshornet
I saw 9 year olds score more than that this weekend their score was 43-44 Posted by PanzyFan:For those who don't know what happened in the Portland-MLK game, MLK held the ball the entire, I repeat, the entire 4th quarter. tellicobearfan
Well, a negitive thing would be the officiating. Can you imaninge a hometown fan managing the shotclock. I mean the shot clock starts with every time the team rebounds the basketball. It sounds good, but it may be hard to do.
Yoda
Good point opperman but in my opinion if a team can't score it doesn't deserve to win. And holding the ball is saying we are more likely to beat you at keep-away than at playing basketball.
