I need some predictions!! Someone needs to go out on a limb and pick a long-shot. I believe that Pisgah AL and Soddy are playing a game today. If anyone gets the results, please post them. I know that several of the teams in the tourney have already played each other. Can these games be used as an early predictor?

Coffee has beaten Beech and Hendersonville

Beech has beeten Lipscomb, Goodpasture, and Coffee

Goodpasture has beaten Coffee and Lipscomb (pre-season)

Clay-Chalkville has beaten Pisgah

Ezell and Goodpasture are playing today

Have any of the other teams played each other?

I need predictions and results of the Ezell/Good and Soddy/Pisgah games!!!

Should be easy to predict. Coffee might be the hottest team in the state right now. Won Waverly championship, beat Beech and hammered Tullahoma in the last week. Five shutouts in last six games.. They should win it.....but

Soddy is a championship team with two legitimate number-one starters in Frizzell and Harris. They should win it.... but

Beech also has two very strong starters. Tied for championship of the Hendersonville and Gibbs tourneys and have only one blemish on their record. They should win it....but

I've never seen anyone beat the Pisgah pitcher, either summer ball or tournaments during the season. She is truly overpowering. I'm sure she has lost before but I've never seen it. They should win it....but

Hendersonville might have more pitching depth than any other team for a multi-game championship run. They should win it....but

Goodpasture has played great from the opening bell this season, and with Pieroni, they're a threat to any team of any classification. They should win it...but

Who in the world would bet against Megan Rhodes and Lipscomb? They should win it...or

One of the others will since they all seem capable of it. There. You have my clear-cut prediction. No waffling here.

If you go to al.com, you will find out that Pisgah has lost 3 or 4 times this year and Hollie has pitched in two or three of those games. They aren't playing that well as of yet!

I went to Pisgah tonite expecting to see an exciting matchup, whoever Coach Kirk put on the mound. After all, these are 3 of the best pitchers in Tn and AL. I was disapointed when the homeplate ump decided to take all finesse out of the game. Belt high, down the middle, or it was called a ball. Close calls on the basepath seemed to go to the home team. This was not a true test of these 2 teams. I look forward to seeing these teams meet again on a neutral field with better umps! Currie,Harris, and Frizzell were all shortchanged tonite by no strike zone

Each team has been sent a copy of directions to the tourney, but I will give some brief info here.

Take interstate 24 to Manchester Exit 111. No matter which way you are coming from, you will take a left off the interstate ramp. Dave King park- turn right on Waite street about 1/4-1/2 mi from the interstate. There will also be a sign there that says city park.

Lady Raider Field- Take the same initial directions by taking a left off the interstate. Keep going straght through three traffic lights. About 4 miles from the interstate you will pass an AEDC credit union. Turn left on Kennedy Dr. which is the second rd. past the Credit union. This is behind the High School. Turn right at the baseball field.

These directions should be sufficient. Hope we have a large crowd.

Interesting thought!!

Someone compile the combined record of the teams entering the tourney. Omit wins/losses vs. teams in the tourney. I do not have lots of the out of state records and schedules, but Coach Brown from Hoover said that he was 17-4 and Clay-Chalkville, ranked #1, is like 21-2.

I know that one of Pisgah's losses was to Clay and that Soddy's loss was to Pisgah.

Coffee is 18-2, with losses to Beech and Goodpasture. Two of Coffee's wins came against Beech and Hendersonville, so you can omit those.

Someone with math skills can help me out. I do know that several of the Nashville teams have knocked each other off.

Let me get this straight - to anyone that follows high school fastpitch softball, this is surely an excellent field of teams - my understanding is that all the teams that will be at the tourney have been to their state's tournaments multiple times and have either won some or have placed no lower than third!! But by the analysis on this board, whoever wins will have this to face:

a) they were "just on that day"

B) could be beat any other day when the other teams are having good games

c) is just as good as their last game

d) for sure are an excellent team - along with all the other teams!

e) bad/good officiating (I sincerely hope we don't hear this one)

Man, has the true smell of a "state tourney" alright!! :)

The reality is everyone knows that each one of these teams can beat the other teams any day of the week - LADY LUCK will surely pay visits this weekend - but what a weekend it will be - I'M IN !! SEE YA IN MANCHESTER!! :D:):D:)

    • Hope the catcher on baseball team come back out and play's football . He didn't play last year if I remember but I don't remember much after that wreck anyways.. But he did play his freshman and soph years and I thought was a very good player. He's put on some size now, so I'm hoping he's thinking about playing again..
    • Pirates are young this year.  Gordy can sleep on them.
    • They’ll get it worked out eventually.Farragut is too good of a program to be down for long. As an OR fan, I can’t really say I’m too distraught about it though.
    • I didn’t even see that until you said something, but I don’t think it’s that bad. Yes, the coaches can’t get along with each other. But I don’t think they’re openly taking shots at each other right in front of the parents. If they are, that’s pitiful though, that’s really pitiful. I sure hope they’re not, but yeah, I’ve heard the same thing from players over at Farragut getting fed up, and I feel as though what the coaching staff has been trying to keep under the prying eyes of the parents is now out on full display.
    • and there is definitely a reason for that—more than just Catholic recruiting.
