well, i reside from the scott county area. not a good idea i can say. the game would be full of personal fouls and other penalties on purpose. i wouldnt be surprised if there were quite a few fights if these teams did play, but speaking in money terms, it would gain a lot. of course wherever it would be the total profit would not be much, because the opposing team would end up terrorizing the home teams facilities. i don't ever see this happening. but i remember awhile ago, when scotty brummet played for the highlanders these two teams scrimmaged i think in the spring. tons of people showed up for that, just think of a real game...

the real reason oneida and scott game will never take place is becase onedia will never play scott. they know scott would kill them. scott is much more physical than onedia. scott high is ready any time anywhere onedia wants some

But that kind of stuff is what rivalries are all about!!!

Smith County High School and Gordansville are in-county rivals...and to be perfectly honest...very seldom are there any problems involving this game... sometimes words are exchanged...but usually in a friendly, mocking manner... I've never seen any trouble on the field...the kids play hard...both teams want to win...but they keep their heads in the game....While I believe that the gate receipts could be just as big for some other teams, the SCHS-Gordansville game always has a good gate...and it usually is standing room only....

REAL MEN WEAR BLACK, THE REST OF THE BOYS WEAR BLUE!!!!....GO SCHS!!!

I for one would love to see this game take place it would be an unbelivable game. The whole county would come to see this game. Onedia won't play scott for some reason and if anyone knows why will some please tell me.

pig i do not beleive that oneida will not play scott county. they just have no room for them on their schedule. and there are obvious reasons these teams don't play. one of them is because scott high is 3 or 4 times the size of oneida. you can't expect a team that small to play that size of a team and win. i believe it would be a good game and i don't think the oneida boys would back down to scott high. i believe the total oppostie of you also. i think oneida would win in a close game. just dont get your hopes up for it to happen...

    • Actually that young kid was in an offense that loved to throw the ball I believe.    Biggest problem for MC is if the coaching staff can figure out which mouths to feed at the appropriate time.
    • Have you ever been in education (administration) or a head coach? You’re responsible for all aspects of your program. If you were not checking the kids information correctly and left it up to someone else and they mess up. You’re held liable because it’s a failure on supervision, implementation of TSSAA eligibility and your school’s eligibility. Remember the wording in the article for him “CONTRACT NOT RENEWED” coaches are on a year to year contract and don’t sign the contract again until July. Do I believe he still should’ve been let go? Yes because you’re responsible for the total program and should be aware of everything going on. Do I believe he knew about the grade changes? No and that’s because nobody brought his name up until things got really bad and there is no indication with any paperwork showing he did. It’s just word of mouth from a teacher trying to cover herself.
    • TSSAA won't ever issue a death penalty, worst case scenario would be a post-season penalty that makes Clinton ineligible for the playoffs for a year or two (I believe 3 years is the most I have ever seen).  But TSSAA only does that in extremely rare circumstances.
    • I just want to echo that sentiment. Coach Woodmore is a good man and he is going to do things the right way and expect these kids to do things the right way. He will help grow them into fine young men. The wins will follow. I think Bolivar hit a home run.
