Guess Who's Back?

Do I want to beat Riverdale? The answer is most certainly. However, as I have stated before, only time will tell whether or not Blackman will pull out of it's regular season rut with Riverdale. The past two regular season meetings have been absolute disgraces. But I have a feeling that this could be the year.

Yes, I did realize that. I do not know how Rankin keeps pulling that one off.I am sure Marty would like that gate money! We have to go back to lebanon this year too. Hopefully it won't rain again this year so we will get to play on the scheduled night! Thank goodness we don't have to return to the Pit in Lincoln County this year. I really hate the drive there and do not like the fans there either. I think that Franklin is as far away as we have to drive this year.

Hey Riverdale, how is your son handling things? It will get tougher on him as the season gets closer.Does Rankin welcome the old players back at practices and all?

He really hasn't missed it that much. He works, and he likes making that money. He will be staying involved at MTSU as a member of the film crew for the football team, so he is really excited about that.

Guess i will have to become a Blue Raider also. With the way my Mississippi State teams have been lately, maybe I should change anyway.

With so many familair faces on the team at MTSu, he should feel right at home. I am glad he is still staying in the game, makes it easier.

As for me, I never have been able to get into Blue Raider football. I was a Kentucky fan when Tim Couch was there. After they got busted there, I have reluctantly gone back to following the Vols. However, my blood is not orange. Give me my choice and I will choose high school football, especially Middle Tn football, any day of the week to watch. Ain't nothing like it!

I have been to one Blue Raider game. Not for me. I too prefer high school. But i cheer for Peen State in college. Isnt funny that it seems like alot of Riverdale graduates go on to play at MTSU, whereas I know alot of Blackman players are going to Cumberland University? :D

Who from Blackman is playing at Cumberland? Where did Rico end up? It would certainly be a shame if no one picked him up.

Back in my youth, no one was a bigger Georgia fan than I was.

I too am looking foward to it. To be truthful however, when I heard of our scheduling Gallatin and Brentwood, I asked one of the coach's why. Their answer was that Coach Alsup's philosophy is that you have to schedule big games against big teams to win big games against big teams. I can only hope we will win, but it should be a good game either way.

    • Eagleville hosting shows laziness on the part of the TSSAA and a complete disregard for the appearance of impartiality. Absolutely nothing against EHS. Its not their fault TSSAA is lazy.    I understand EHS staff work the games at Eagleville, and they don’t want to miss the EHS games. However this isn’t rocket science. It would take less than 1 hour to cross-train EHS and RHS volunteers at the opposite sites. If Eagleville (or any host)  makes the tournament, flip their game site and have the volunteers flip sites for the days their school plays at the opposite site. Magically the school’s fans would be present to watch the their kids play and the kids at least lose some familiarity and home field advantage.  It takes almost no effort and is a ~15 minute extra drive.
    • We feel the pain!
    • Jason Lambert should be the only choice for the Baseball coaching position.
    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
