Franklin and Brentwood were strong for a number of reasons; good athletes with TREMENDOUS SPEED, above average coaching, CREATIVE playcalling. Where Brentwood was better than Franklin was that they made fewer mistakes. Fewer penalties and fewer turnovers. The problem with Dickson County is that they are too one dimensional, run the ball down your throat and play great defense( Put Gallatin in that group too!) A big play or critical turnover takes them out of too many games!

 

The reason Franklin will unseat Brentwood...they graduated fewer seniors and because the Juniors are all returning they should make fewer mistakes as Seniors. The second half of the playoff game between the two showed how vulnerable Brentwood's secondary was to our speed.

 

Centennial is prime to compete with both, remember they almost knocked off Brentwood! They were winning in the fourth quarter! They just need to become more consistent!

 

Dickson County needs to grow an imagination on offense to go with their size and dominating defense before they can expect to be on top. Heaven help us when they do!

 

Speed and athleticism too much for the others to overcome. Franklin scored 59 on Henery Co., 58 on Clarksville, and 55 on Kenwood and most of that was just overwhelming speed! The only way they compete is when the Williamson County teams get too conservative in their game plans.

Brentwood is number 1 until they are beaten then Franklin. This is going to be a great game between Brentwood and Franklin

It is really a shame that Clarksville High didn't get any votes, but with the coach leaving to go to Austin Peay and with the budget crisis, who knows what will happen. All the coaches of every sport is meeting tonight, I've been told, at kenwood High to decide if they will play or walk because it is speculated that sports will not be fully funded. Even so, as bad as I hate to say it, with CHS getting a different coach, even though he has been an assistant in the past, I think it will be a while before CHS will be back up to top form! IMO!

This will be a close one between Brentwood and Franklin, but im going out on a limb, I say Franklin takes the Region 6 title.
