whos the best tight end in 1A?

i think that justin morton of greenback is the best tight end. he has the speed of a running back the weight and hight of an all american lienmen and hands like a reciver. lets go j-money

Cloudland's Coach Mike Lunsford has been quoted as saying that Aaron Stockton is the best tight he's coached. Stockton is also a very good basketball player. I think he's 6'3" and is a college prospect in both sports.

Regardless of how effective a tightend is at the 1A level, if he isn't at least a true 6'2 in stocking feet and his frame can't easily carry 240 pounds, he isn't going to be looked at as a tightend at the D1 level. This is why many defensive ends are being converted to TE after they get to college. In high school, they need them on the line and they let smaller guys play TE. Plus, it's nice to have an offensive guy with a defensive guy's ticker. This doesn't mean that an exceptional athlete who plays TE won't be recruited and placed in another position.

 

To add to kichunaka's comment, it isn't uncommon for a good TE to be an exceptional basketball player, too.

Coalfield's Brandon Foster could be listed here. 6'5" 230 lbs. Soft hands. He needs to work harder before he can be mentioned with the best, though. The potential is there.
