RIVERDALE vs. GERMANTOWN

This should be a great game. Germantown has crushed just about everyone they have played, including in the playoffs. They have put up some awesome defensive numbers. These two teams sound very similar....run the ball and play great defense.

Well I wouldn't say they crushed us.

Having seen both teams play this season, I'm going to have to pick Riverdale. They've improved since I saw them play Dickson County, so I hear from all you wonderful RHS CoachT folk. Germantown just simply didn't impress me. It'll be close but I'll take Riverdale in a close one... I think my prediction was 12-10? Something like that.

The thing that stands out in my mind about Germantown is the way they acted when they played Lincoln County for state back in the early 90's.  Some Germantown fans had banners on their cars that said, "We're not stuck up, we're just better than you."  I guess that stemmed from their coming from a ritzy area of Memphis and from having the reputation of being snooty.

Interesting how that has stuck with me all these years.  Small wonder that I am pulling for Riverdale, as I would have for ANYONE else playing Germantown.

Don't let a few bad apples spoil the whole barrel!

Germantown has a win in their hearts, and souls, and the defence, and offence to win, I do beleive Riverdale's run has ended.

Go Red Devils!

Just let me ask u one question? Alright here it is....How do u say that Riverdale is going to run all over Germantown when Germantown came back form behind against Franklin, intercepted 2 passes(1 pass that sealed the win), and stopped a good rusihng attack on the goal line for 0 points? How do you compete with that? Good Luck Germantown...show them what 5-A football truly is like!!!

Hey you guys I think Germantown runs a wishbone if i am wrong please lemme know...but if all germantown does is run the football they don't have much a chance against riverdale...Riverdales DLine is too quick...trust me I know from experience against them Goood luck Riverdale

yes they run a wishbone but they also set up in many other formations don't expect the ordinary game out of these guys Saturday night...they've come for a battle of the best and have set their hearts on this one...i think they're going to set up in the wishbone but they'll gain as many yards as if they would have if the set up in a different offensive formation!

    • Never in my life have I seen a team in a scrimmage against their own defense look so lost and confused. The defense didn’t look much better, the coaching staff can’t keep their anger together, not only with the players but also with their other coaches. I feel awful for those players. None of them look like they wanted or should’ve been out there, but for the grown men on the sidelines acting like fools, it's just embarrassing to the Farragut name and reputation. I now see why they chose not to live stream this on their YouTube channel.
    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
