GregC
I agree with you Greg C. But you forgot to add Baldy, and Eggo. I like Baldy.
Rebelwithoutapplause
Well, VG, Perry County can only get kids from Perry County, but USJ(the most glaring example) draws from all over Madison and surrounding counties( I've seen their program book they sell at the games there and it lists where each player is from). Reserved parking spots for their $1000 booster club members. When did you see the program book they sell at games. No USJ athletic program book list where the players are from and never have . To be a Super booster the annual fee is $250 you missed it by about $750 . The 2 quoted comments you made are nothing but LIES. Please if you want to complain don't make up stuff to make a point because you lose all credibility.

Baldcoach
Open zones are only an advantage in certain areas. Being a open zoned 1a school in Nashville or any populated area is huge. Once you get known as a powerhouse in any sport,,kids will come. Private schools have several advantages. I told people about CAK when they were a doormat, they will own region 2 just like Boyd owns region 3. If there is no change we will see one of these two schools in the Boro every year. A question Pujo, How long has Boyd 'owned' its region and who 'owned' it for the 50 years before?
Baldcoach
I like Baldy. Thanks Greg! I like you too. Actually I like just about everyone on the boards...even those who I disagree with at least have enough love of the game to get on here. I think some of them are goofuses who couldn't argue their way out of a paper bag, but that's ok...I am a brain-damaged bald guy, so who am I to point fingers!? treefarmer
Antwan, Why not treat everyone equally and have all successful programs...private and public...move up? We could even let the non-successful programs move down. Oh, wait, that'sa merit based system and of course those are crazy, right? p.s. If you still think there are no successful public programs see my post on the other thread...I can find others if need be...those 4 just sprang to mind. 502698[/snapback] How many private 4a schools are in the state? I think they only dominate 1a.
JaxMan
an interesting point...with all the talk of how privates draw from wider area than publics...Milan is currently struggling with complaints of out of zone players they have on their squad...seems they have several players from other school zones and get around it by being a special school district...so should they move to division two...get a muliptlier and move up...if it gives privates an unfair advantage is Milan not enjoying the same advantage... JaxMan
Honestly all of the arguments on the public-private issue are old ones...I did not offer it as a fresh idea...just a look at the irony that one class of schools has a multiplier added while another group of schools (special school districts) do not, but have the same benefit of open zones...
