North Greene Upsets Unaka

North Greene shocked Unaka Friday night. Please give us some game details.

Unaka didn't play very well at all. Not taking anything from North Greene they played really hard and should be proud. The officiating was very inconsistent and Unaka didn't adjust. The real sad part is the officials were getting an ear full and after the game ask the Deputy to remove one of the Ranger fans. They even missed that call and was about to have an older woman (who has never cussed in her life, has taught Sunday school for most of her life, married to a professor at Milligan) escorted out, do I need to go on. However the principal came to her rescue and apologized for the ref who embarrassed her. That was a class act.

I am sure you will hear a lot more from the Ranger faithful about the refs but bottom line is Unaka is a better team and on a neutral floor the outcome will be different.

You know its interesting that every time the Rangers lose, they blame it on the officiating, at least partially. Could it be that they are overrated? I heard they had another player quit, a promising freshman. Is Chambers undercoaching or overcoaching these kids?

these lady rangers are not over rated. they had a bad night an had to play the refs too. fouls ng 7 unaka 24 that says alot ng made 20 foul shots but no excuses we got beat! at the end of the season LADY RANGERS WILL BE ON TOP thanks

You know its expected to not get the calls on the road, but if the game was close throughout then I agree that the foul difference is more than the norm even on the road in Greene CO.

 

I know you have a kid on that team, so tell us if another player did in fact quit this week. Good luck against Unicoi and Harriman.

Lets face it, when you play at North Greene, you had better be at least 20 points better than them or the refs will take it away from you. Coaches Corner, at the half, the fouls were 11 to 1, in N.G. favor. Biased would not even begin to describe the refs. North Greene was shooting 1 and 1 4:37 into the first quarter. Unaka never got into 1 and 1 all night.... the game was close throughout; the largest lead North Greene had was nine near the end of the first half..... but I have to agree, the Ladies played down all night, the worst game they have played all season.

Then they want to blame everyone else, just like the Ranger football team. They blamed a tough schedule on their losing program and resorted to 8-man football. The boys basketball team brag how they are gonna beat everybody, then they can't even beat teams in their own county. The ladies are expected to walk through the conference and they can't even handle the lower seeds. Give me a break people. Unaka is pitiful and you deserve everything thats happening to you.

And the only thing that sh*ty school ya'll call "Cloudland" is good for is getting the county schools out for snow every now and then... I hope a huge avalanche comes and completly destroies Cloudland and there pitiful athletics program... I also hope it takes you away and you are never heard from again, 'cause your a dumb ###### and all you do is talk crap and boast about how great your "lowlanders" are; well gues what: they stink. They will never do anything in any sport, and anyone that goes there would have been better of going to school in Senegal or Vietnam... Just look at how stupid you are : the football board is closed and here you are still talking about how much of a jack-###### your coach is since he left his varsity out with our jv because he got in a tissy fit with the refs. I hope ya'll bump into each other in that avalanche right befor ya'll go into the Doe River and drown and/or freeze to death. You would derserve that and everthing that happends to you.

HaHahahaha!! Temper, temper! It's amazing how the truth cuts to the bone! Human nature always tells on itself. Don't worry crazyness, Unaka may not always be the lowest in society, but I will always be your king!

I wasn't able to see the girls' game @ NG; but I've seen way too many games there to even begin to talk about it.

 

The boys also got off to a bad start; they almost got caught up in the blame the officials mentality, but finally settled into some good Ranger basketball.

 

Losing at NG is nothing new to UHS; Beating them everywhere else is common-place. Unaka - boys and girls - in spite of the "playing up" approach, certainly overscheduled this season. It will be weeks before we learn whether that monsterous schedule pays positive or negative dividends; but right now the Lady Rangers, notwithstanding their poor showing at NG, still appear the team to beat in the conference.

 

As to the eight-man football remark: One of the Rangers opponents was shorthanded, with some players sick, and others quitting the program, so they asked Unaka to play the eight man game. But I don't recall Unaka ever claiming to be world beaters in football; nor do I see the class-less comments relevant here.

 

The freshman class looks almost as good as this year's junior class. I'm not aware of a freshman quitting. But a very capable sophomore has quit. Hope things work out for her. She's a very talented player; an offensive spark the the Rangers will sorely miss, come tournament time.

The king does not represent Cloudland people's thoughts in any way. Don't get all hot and bothered by someone who is clearly not very bright about sports or anything else for that matter. I enjoy the competition between Unaka and Cloudland. What I don't enjoy is the competition between the fans. On the fields or the courts the players, both girls and boys, play hard and clean. The fans take things way too far. It is bad when I don't want to take my young children to a game because of the behavior of the fans. Grow up people. It is a game, not life and death. Kilt, we all know who The King is as well as Flossie and we all think he's full of bologna. Most of the posts on this board are made by adults and very few are made my players. When we read his stupid posts we just consider the source, shake our heads and move on to the next one. One of these days Flossie (aka The King) is going to let his mouth right a check his butt can't cover and it's gonna be Katie bar the door. All this smack talk he's putting on here may come back and bite him one day.
