What is the status on the weight allowance?

Zero Pounds, allowed. TSSAA recently got strict on the weight allowance, since some coach somewhere got mad that everyone got 2 pounds but they didn't get the info, so all their guys were on scratch weight. So now the rest of us suffer.

 

My math was that the South Carolina team got the growth allowance on Jan. 1 (instead of the 15th) and we were wrestling on the 31st. So that was 3 pounds, now they say we can't do that since they are wrestling here they have to go by our rules.

 

Anyway look for faxes and e-mails to notify about the scratch weight.

 

At Franklin they did the same thing and 2 teams claimed they didn't get the message and thought there was 2 pounds, when they had to do the same thing and cancel the weight allowance. When we got there they said we got 2 pounds.

 

2 pound allowance then no allowance then 2 pound allowance = angry coaches.

 

My kids were on scratch weight, and so where most of the other teams. This whole issue is because of some lousy coach who didn't check the fax machiene or the e-mail or the answering machiene.

Some coaches may not have been strict on weight allowance, but I have never known the TSSAA not to be strict on weight allowance.

Tisdale and Trevor (Beech) are looking pretty good. I expect to see them in the finals. Other than that I hear that PJPII has a good 215. Oh yeah, and I guess Pair might do ok . Of course I could be completely wrong about everything I just said.
