Bradley Central Beats White Station!

I think there is at least some history to show that beating a team really increases Bradley's confidence. Last year against Cleveland the first game was close, the second game was close, and then in the last two Bradley showed what they were made of. Coach Smith won't let these guys get the big head, but this will definitely be a confidence booster (as if the Bears needed it). Glad to see Wes have a great game. Congratulations Bears!!

We expected a good close game, but also expected to win.Or at least i did.

Well there weren't many people who thought like you. I know I know i didn't. But congrats to Bradley even though they will probably get throttled when the two meet in State. I wish i could've seen the game.

Great game between two fantastic programs. I hope that this gives those of us in East Tennessee a little room to brag. It seems that not too many people feel that basketball outside of Memphis is worth watching or at least not on a level with them. Sure, there is more talent in Memphis than elsewhere around the state but it also shows that there are programs that can compete at the highest level. There is room for others at the top.

Congrats to Coach Terry Tippett and Coach Kent Smith, two of the absolute very best in the state!

The game was great! Back and forth between each team! That's what high school basketball is all about. I remember reading a few posts on an earlier thread from several folks who said White Station was a 20 pt better team. Well, to the last post.:I've heard about enough about how WS is so much better than BC. BC wins tonight and now you are saying that it will make them hungry. You just keep thinkin whatever you wish if it makes you feel better. Bottom line is Bradley Central beats White Station. I hope we meet them in the state!!!!!!

Final Score......

BCHS: 60

WSHS: 55

Well Opperman... It happened!

Congratulations to Bradley Central.

Guess we'll have to wait and see how things go come late February and early March, we might have a rematch.

I do know that White Station will come home extremely angry, and I'm not looking forward to my Bartlett Panthers' game against them on January 10.

Congratulations Bradley! I have to ask the same question as phillipx! What does this do for Giles' strength of schedule? I mean, the Bobcats had (what is now) the best team in the state up agaist the ropes twice! It seems to me that giles deserves a little more credit than what they have been recieving!

Either way, as i've said in past posts, Bradley is the best team in the state, and they have simply proven it! CONGRATULATIONS!

    • I've always been a football fan first and then if you have a band that's awesome. No question that DB has one of the best bands in the country and the whole region should attend at least one DB game just to see their band. I don't know if Nick Saban could come to Kingsport and build a football program that could match the Dobyns Bennett band's success. That said,as mentioned before, a couple of things would have to change in order for the Tribe to just win a state championship on the field.Besides a program that starts from the peewee teams and goes all the way to J Fred with all coaches and weight training { in time }on the same page. Sometimes it also takes a little luck like the 1998 Vols .There are a lot of great athletes at a lot of big schools around the state and just because you want something doesn't mean your going to build a program like Alcoa has. Yes,start at the bottom and have guys that are quality coaches teaching at every level is 100% the first step. Parents can make it a lot easier by getting their young athletes into an early start with conditioning and weights as well when they are old enough to lift.If your son is a man in the weight room before he gets to DB , then it won't take a "Dobbs" coach to make him competitive against other schools athletes when it comes to strength.
