Can anyone picture Unaka making it back to the state tournament again this year?

they are playing good basketball right now just comming of a win against one of the top teams in division 2 Chattanooga Mcallie and out of 24 big games so far this

year they have 9 losses not to mention one of the 2nd best records Unaka has had in a while the last time they went to the state tournament they ended up with 12 losses losing to a very good Ezell Hardin team. But could this be Unaka's year to prove the critics wrong and go and compete for a state title they are beating some pretty tough opponents right now and I really just dont see them losing in there district or region.I guess only time will tell till we find out how good Unaka really is.

Unaka has the weapons to compete for a state title tough press good coaching and great players with a hard work ethic they proved that the other night against Chattanooga Mcallie playing very hard and very smart and not rushing things in the 4th quarter keep doing everything your doing and keep playing hard and you will find yourselves playing for a shot at the state championship in the murfreesburro. :D Edited by luvsbball

That is a good point region 2 is very well balanced with good competition and great teams.Yes Harriman did beat Unaka once in overtime at Unaka when they had them down by 15 at one point in overtime and the other by 5 at there place. When

Unaka played Cosby at Unaka they beat them by 1 when they played down there they got beat by 10 so either way if Unaka plays Harriman or Cosby they will most likely play them at Unaka because Unaka will win there region and host a substate

at home and everyone knows that Unaka is one of the toughest places to win at in East Tennessee good luck to who ever faces them out of region 2 exspecially at our place.

You can't say that you will be hosting a sub state game before you even start post season. Even if you do win, it might not be Harriman or Cosby that comes to Unaka. Rockwood, Oneida and CAK all have great teams. Harriman isn't even the best team in the Distrcit and Unaka lost to them. Harriman is tied with Oneida and Rockwood beat Harriman twice this season. Plus, it would be hard for me to believe that Cosby would lose again at Unaka.

region 2 beware,

Unaka just go a transfer student in form Texas that is now eligible as of today. He has been playing jv since he came after christmas and is the real deal. led jv in scoring is fast, shoots well and can dunk the ball with authority. could be one of the best to ever play at uhs before he leaves. you can bet that he will play varsity come tournament time.

and chill. do you think that Unaka showed ever wrinkle to Harriman, Cosby etc? you don't want be on the road and have to play at Unaka?

Unaka is good enough to sweep there district and there region now who they play in substate will be up to whom ever loses out of district 2 I really dont know.

All i can say is XtremeLoco you say its different when a good team come's into

Unaka to play why dont you check and see who they have played away at other places Tennesee Temple,Science Hill, Mcallie,Knox Bearden,Cosby,Pickett County,

I could name them all and by looking at Rockwood's Harriman's CAK and Cosby's

schedule it dont even compare to Unaka's.

They protect there homecourt better than any team in upper East Tennessee and

if they make it to the substate no matter if they face Cosby,Rockwood,Harriman

whoever you can bank on which ever team it is they will be in one heck of a dogfight because when you come to there gym not many teams come out with the (WIN)

    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
