TankTalk
I think when people pay to enter a contest, they can sit where they feel like it. Of course, some people could have positioned themselves in a place where they knew it would be a distraction and to cause trouble. But still, I think when people do that, you let them have their fun. You have competative cheering against each other, you stop using the profanities and you have fun. I wonder if Kingston had won, if the challenge would have been issued to "meet outside?" You folks have really got to stop taking things so seriously. The battles are played on the court, your job is to cheer for your team, not to become some gang-like entity that tarnishes your school. XtremeLoco
Im starting to get sick by reading these Kingston fans say it was OR's fault because they sat in the wrong spot. That is the worst excuse for a blame ive ever heard. I don't think they need extra security for the District..i think the kids involved last night need to be banned from the tourny. arnwine
I was at this game. Anderson County had MAYBE eight students (boys and girls). Kingston had 50-60 guys who began chanting "parking lot" before the game was over. When I left these same 50-60 guys were standing on a hill between the gym and the parking lot yelling at ANY AC fans that left, including the old women. This was an ambush. Kingston had no police or faculty presence outside. I used to think the Kingston students were funny, but this was nothing but "gang" type behavior. These students should be suspended from ALL athletic events, and Kingston should forfeit the hosting of the district tourney. It was not a good night for high school sports. jacketsfan13
I am not defending what happened, but I think taking the tournament away is taking it a little too far. I was not at the game last night because I was supporting my tigers, but I have been to Anderson County, when they have played Kingston, and the AC fans need to quit acting like they are angels. Their fans are just as bad at home. Sounds like there does need to be more security though. I'd say all this talk on Coacht prior to the game didn't help matters much either. I mean both sides were inviting each other to find them after the game.
IheartWurdUp!!
How hardcore do you have to be to chant "parking lot" to a student section with lesser students than you do? Honestly those kids should be banned from the rest of the season in basketball..that is just rediculous. As for the tourney...i don't think the tournament should be taken away, but there definetly should be more security if those bafoons are going to be there. BBALLTN
Where were the game admin. when they were chanting this? Every game has them that is their job from what I understand to stop things like this from happening. Edited February 11, 2004 by BBALLTN
oskie
What a great rivalry. It's a shame that things degenerate to physical violence. I'm sure the administration does not condone what happened and will take steps to see that things remain under control at the tournament. The last thing Kingston wants is a black eye. TankTalk
Would the mods please close this garbage? I don't think the creator had this in mind, when he wanted to create a place for positive talk about high school sports in our fair state. This is trash that needs to nipped in the bud. Man I love throwing in Barney sayings...
KiNgStOnKrAzIe4LIFE
I agree that its trash, its trash at how everyone is trying to make Kingston look like we are the only ones to blame....Remember both schools students were in the fight. TankTalk
No, what is trash is that two sets of students are supposed to support their team and instead use a game to thump their chests and act like criminals. Fighting is wrong...forget all the "cool" crap you watch on TV or at the movies. There is no winner...and it's stupid. That is the trash of the situation. If you can't go to a game and act like somebady, stay at home playing your PS2. One day these students will wake up and realize how to act, but right now the problems lay with the adults behind the situation. This whole "Krazy" situation has been building for a long time and it should have been addressed. Now it's got out of hand and the city has a black eye. Congratulations on that.
