I AGREE scbballfreak they dont have a clue what kind of ball is played here. East Tennessee by far has the best girls basketball in the state. Five to six solid teams who can beat each other on any given night. Im glad to hear u are pullin for the lady panthers hopefully we will represent East TN well. And to all of you Brentwood fans who think we arfe under estimating you all we arn't. We just know the potential of our girls team and how they have been playing. They are playing so well right now and have a lot of confidence. We just really believe in our girls I think it will be a close game for awhile but at the end Powell will pull away. Powell BY 11!!!!!!!!!! GO LADY PANTHERS

I know east tennessee has some great girls basketball teams.....with tradition and results. I'm from up there so I know. But you can't claim to be the best region in the state if you look at history. Middle tennessee has produced the most state champions in womens bball and region 4 has compiled the biggest percentage. shelbyville, white county, lawrence county....name one region in AAA with more state titiles that this one. I know the regions up there are tough and they beat up on each other, but it happens here as well.

bballbabe- I have no idea who you are - you could be a teammate of mine or just a Franklin fan, but the disrespect shown from you is uncalled for. I agree that Mboro is a little over the top and I agree with Bobcat about him, but don't stoop to his level.

 

utizzle- I don't know who you are either, but don't think all Franklin people are like bballbabe. We were NOT forced to sign the Good Luck card that was sent to you - it was actually my idea to get over the bad attitude game everyone had in the district tournament and for the Lady Bruins to know we were rooting for them to represent our district/region/county well. If some of the girls didn't want to sign it, they didn't have to.

 

Sorry to hear Brentwood is through, but what a GREAT season for the seniors to reflect on! Losing by 4 to a team that will probably end up giving Shelbyville a run for their money in the Championship! You represented us very well and you had a GREAT SEASON! There is NOTHING you should be ashamed of!

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
