Is it just me or did Blackman really get beat by LaVergne 9-8?

Is that a misprint?Who threw for Blackman and LaVergne? Will someone please update me on how the game went!

I thought Blackman was the team to beat this year?? With their "ALMIGHTY" pitching staff.

Hehehehe...Almighty pitching staff. Well, Price is good, but not that good. I wouldn't count them out, though; Blackman has some ability. (And wow, congrats Lavergne.)

 

I think Hunter's Lane was "upset" about their game today.

Well, it's just like last year. Tallent is there, but the (head) coaching isn't. What will Blackman do when they lose this group of seniors. This is part of the first team at Blackman. Price and House have been 1 & 2 since their freshman year. They do have a couple of other pitchers in McDaniel and Nell, but they are seniors also.

I don't know how much of an upset this is, but Single A Rockwood defeated Triple A Cumberland County on opening day.

Blackmans problem wasn't the pitching No defense showed up.House was definately off by his standards but errors killed him at least 7 errors were commited.Nell came in and did a good job over 4 innings giving up 2 hits and 1 unearned and 1 earned run.At one point struck-out 5 or 6 batters in a row.Offense wasn't bad either.Any time your team can hit 3 HR's you should win.What's up with bunt with nobody on base and 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th?

I would agree w/ antioch upsetting lebanon...the lavergne blackman game was a good hitting game neither team played excellent on defense.

Looking at the game stats, LaVergne gave up 4 unearned runs and Blackman gave up 2. Blackman made 5 errors and LaVergne made 4. Both teams had 9 hits each. LaVergne scored 7 in the first 3 innings. LaVergne Struck out 12 times; Blackman 6. Blackman had 1 walk and 2 hit batters; LaVergne had 3 walks and 1 hit batter.

congrats on beating blackman, but i just don't see how it happened. Is blackman not playing well, or has this whole pre-season talk been just a big hype. We played the LaVergne last thursday, and they could barely touch a ball...offensivly or defensivly for that matter.
