redbaron515
Which high schools are you talking about?
TNT
If your talking from those High School i would have to say BHS has the best pitching with Sally G & Heather B....Then close with Marget M at FHS & Tommie H at LCHS...other 3 HS flip a coin on pitching but Brittany J from SDHS can play with the best of them speed speed speed... ladyadmiral
I agree that Megan is the best in the state, but that was the question. The schools in question on this thread are Maryville, Heritage, South Doyle, Bearden, Farragut and William Blount.
jackrabbit4
I think Britney Caldwell(soph.) from the Creek Wood team is a good pitcher. by her senior year I think she might be untouchable.
TNT
I would put freshman K.Irwin (knox Central) up their with M Rhodes. Can any one tell how you define a good pitcher is it wins--Ks--pitches--are what.
ladyadmiral
I think ERA and Batting AVG against pitcher are the best measures of the pitching position. Batting AVG against pitcher depends on the defense somewhat, but ERA eliminates defensive errors. The ultimate measure of how a pitcher meshes with the TEAM is won/loss record. VCR
Wins and Ks add up don't get me wrong...I will always take Ks but if they never reach the mental part of the game they will never make it....the best pitchers are the ones that believe in themselves and ususally that part started with a parent or a coach re-enforcing their natural abilities.... just my opinion....was a pitcher, still think I am and I am Older than dirt....Its all Mental.....Look at Greg Maddux.....Lisa Fernandez.....A coach told her she would never be a pitcher......but she and her family told her different....
