runnerboy
Wow.. It looks like I got hurt at the wrong time... With the Siegal guy running 1:56 last night and Knox running 4:25 at Vol my chances at making state are on the line... Kinda scary but this is what makes track fun... Gotta step up to the challenge.. Congrats to all that did well.. Edited April 21, 2004 by runnerboy

BABOB
Does anyone else here think its funny that Andrew Bumbalough from brentwood academy would have beat the guy who won the 3200 meter race by almost a minute.

coasterboarder
Does anyone else here think its funny that Andrew Bumbalough from brentwood academy would have beat the guy who won the 3200 meter race by almost a minute. If by funny, you mean that the fact that Bumbi is a minute better has some sort of comedic value, then no- Bejan ran an unbelievably gutsy race, and to post anything on these boards which would take away from his accomplishment is to not understand what he did. He ran a PR, school record, and Great 8 record in the 1600, and then- only an hour later- ran a PR, and a Great 8 record in the 3200. He is only a junior, and he has an unbelievable amount of natural talent. Bumbi is a great runner, but I think its unfair to every other runner in the state to hold anyone else to his expectations. He is the best 2-mile runner in the nation, and I personally dont find it "funny" that Bejan ran a great race Tuesday...

wolverine10
i'm not sure about the jumping events. i think lavergne won the high jump but i'm not sure there were 3 guys that got 6' and couldn't get any higher so i didn't hear the final results. i'll let everyone know how it goes today at finals
Sparx
The 2 boys in the 3200 in the Great 8 were great to watch. That ought to even be a better race next year. Who was that other kid behind Bejan in the 3200 race that got beat at the line? What year was the other kid?

Who was that other kid behind Bejan in the 3200 race that got beat at the line? What year was the other kid? His names Clay Hannah from Lebanon High, but I dont know for sure what year he is- although my guess is senior... But yeah, like you said, Bejan will only get better. Next year is going to be an awesome race. What would be really awesome would be if Bejan got good enough to tempt Bumbi into racing it too, but I guess thats more likely in the 1600 than the 3200...
