8AAA Tournament

Speaking of the 98 Tullahoma team they are the last T-Town team to make the region period. For some reason Tullahoma seems to choke up in the tournament . It not because of lack of talent for they have several players sign to play college ,they always have solid pitching and seem to be well coached.Their hitting disappears in the tournament for some reason.

I know it did this tournament. This year they put on a clinic on how to hit fly balls.

Congratulations to Coffee Co. on a great win and a well played tournament. A very emotional and exciting win the first night against lawrence co. Then a sloppy game played against Franklin co. in a loss. Then the raiders bounced back and answered the challenge and Defeated Tullahoma monday then that night defeated shelbyville. Then played well against Columbia today. A great game played by both teams and good luck to both in the region. I would like to see district 8 have a little success in the region. Good luck guys. Who was it that said the Raiders were a fluke?????

Nice job Coffee County. After battling back through that strange bracket, I think you proved you are the best team in the district this season. Hats off to Chase Jones, a great guy and from what I've seen the last couple of years, an outstanding coach. Good luck to Coffee and Columbia in the regions.

Congrats to Coffee County players & coaches. Good job this year. Through all the off field emotions of #7, (I know he's celebrating now) key injuries, and a late slide, the team kept at it. Good post Mike McGee. A good man and a great writer of high school sports. He always was fair & loyal to CC when he had his Sportsleader paper.

Congratulations Coffee Co, regular season champs for two years in a row in 8AAA and District tourney champs this year. Ya'll made me look good as I picked you to win it before the season started. I think Coffee Co will host Riverdale, Monday in Manchester in the Region first round. Also, hats off to Columbia for district tourney runner-ups. It seems like every season, the Lions play well in the tournament and make it to the Region. Coach Pickle must be doing something right. It was an exciting tournament and good luck to both teams in the Region. I think Columbia will travel to Oakland on Monday.

Two things you can count on in the District 8 tourn. Columbia will be around at the end and Tullahoma will be a no show. Tourn. time is when you really make a name for your program and Columbia seams to always be ready when it counts. On the other hand, TULL has had better or as good of talent as any team in the district the last 4 years but continue to fold when it counts. TULL has a 30 year history of numerous championships and being known as a tourn tough program. This reputation is fading fast.

Congrats to CC, you were my pre-tourn finalist along with COL.

Congrats. to Coffee County on another "Fluke" year. Can somebody tell me where wingman is? He seems to have taken lock jaw on us for some reason. Now for the cold facts. We are going to hve to do something about 3rd. base. Peto has laid down on us. He don't even attempt alot of plays and the ones he does and misses, he doesn't even hussle back to possition. He just waddles around like Charlie Brown. This will cost us in region play. If I were the coach "which i am not" I would leave McNeese on short , move Webster or Clark to 3rd. and leave George behind the plate. At least George will run after the ball if he misses. That is my opinion and only mine. I am not trying to start any smack, just calling it, like I see it. Good luck to the Raiders and thanks for living up to your commentmont to winning it all for #7.

i would rather have a week player at 3rd than a week player behing the plate....that is why they moved mcneese back there... i would say leave everthing the same just move clark to 3rd...and another oldfielder to fill in right field....
