Meigs @ Grundy

Grundy won't overlook anyone. They're too well coached for that.

I'm sure Meigs will be tough otherwise they wouldn't be in the region. The score from their game indicates they gave Walker Valley all they wanted and we all know how good Walker Valley is.

However, I believe Grundy is headed west. As a matter of fact I'm going to check on hotels today. The Yellow Jackets are that good. They just have to continue to believe it and follow through on it.

I haven't seen Beale Street since October so I'm ready to go back. Come on Grundy, let's make the trip. :justwrestle:

Richland played both of these teams and with Woodlee on the mound Meigs will have a very tough time with Grundy. However Miegs has some good sticks, not jus in the top of the order but all the way through. I know I pitched against them there very smart hitters and will hit what you throw where you throw it.

Grundy will not hit Mason like they have been hitting their previous opponents. When Mason is on he is really tough, and if he can't get up for this upcoming game there is something wrong with him. I think the game depends on how Meigs can hit Woodlee. I've never seen him throw, but from the way it sounds he is pretty good. But I did see where Hixson scored 7 off him recently and I think Meigs is just as good or better hitters than Hixson. Everyone as their good and bad games though, so you never know whats going to happen till Monday night.

Meigs has a history in these region semi-final games and it's not good. Since 1993 Meigs has went to the region tournament every year except '99 and '02, but they have only won that first region game twice. They won last year and the only other win came in '96 when they had arguably the best team in the state that year. If I remember correct it was Grundy that they played in '96. Point being is that they usually don't have the best of luck when it comes to these games.

    • Best-of-three sectional series vs East Robertson at home starting Wednesday.  They put us out last year at this point.  Go Pirates!!
    • I don't believe they have anyone that is surbers caliber but a decent staff overall.
    • Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?
    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
