Whew...at least you didn't think I was a girl! Yeah, I have always loved Oakland even though I played ball in GA back in the day. My son grew up watching OHS football....even watched Coach Watson play when he was in HS at OHS!! That was when Alsup was the KING there. My son played for Marty Euverard. He had such a great experience there that I have followed them ever since. It can get difficult since I live in the Siegel zone thanks to the ever-changing zone lines, but OHS is in my blood! It was really sad when they started building all the new schools and seeing the kids being pulled apart.

Who will be the new principal at BHS??

No, he had some offers from some small schools , but since he got academic scholarship money,he didn't want to lose it. Truthfully, he got the champ ring in 98 and that was what he cared most about! He wasn't good enough to go D1 and that was what he wanted to play.

Isn't Vick bad to the bone?? I bet yall wish Mr Daniels hadn't left??

yeah, she is very "by the book" but so was nixon. so not much change will occur. yeah, mr. d was a great guy! honeslty, he was the only admin i felt comfortable talkin to about anything. im sure lavergne is loving him, but we do miss him alot. a champ ring is all anyone wants right? lol. that would be awesome. def a smart guy taking the academic route.

football fanatic, You did all that rambling and you didn't even read my post correctly. I never once said the score of the game. You claim to have a video and told me not to come back at you with stats because you have them already. Well maybe you need to watch the film again. For two quarters we sure did dominate yall. The score may have only been 13-0, but we made a few crucial mistakes. I started at left guard and next to Mt. Juliet, the defensive line was the easiest one I ever blocked. I graded out in the high 90's for blocking %.

When was the last time that CC won a playoff game. Blackman won 3 and played in 5 in its first two years of having football.

    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
