Class 1A Regions

i cant see tssaa puting wayne co, and collinwood in region 7 when every team they would play except perry co would be more than 2 hours away , when they are less than an hour from , perry co, columbia acad., mt pleasant, zion ,

huntland however makes perfect sense to move to reigion 3 they are much closer to those schools than almost all of reigon 6

Here is how I see the Class A region in the Eastern portion of the state (Regions 1-3) shaping up. Granted, this is what makes the most sense geographically, but making sense normally goes out the window when the TSSAA realigns the regions.

I don't see Grace being in any region but 3 actually since they are in Chattanooga. Midway and Greenback, although I don't think it will, could be put back in region 3 like a few years ago.

why would eagleville and forrest not be in the same region, they are like 20 minutes apart, some teams in those regions are over an hour away from eachother

 

we have it easy in region 4-5a, its 6 rutherford county teams, lebanon and wilson central which are between 5 and 25 minutes away

Beene, if you notice there are two schools named Grace in East Tennessee. One is in Chattanooga and will be Region 3 while the Knoxville Grace will  be either in one or two.

Harriman won't be shiiped to Region 1. Although Oneida could be, if they want a 6-team region and they keep Grace in Region 2. I personally think they should keep the 5-team region up there although it's a weak one. It's not fair to anyone west of Knoxville to be shipped there.

Union City and Collinwood are three plus hours apart.  The TSSAA BOC won't go for a that and neither will the schools.  Collinwood and Perry County need to be in regions east of the Tennessee River.

They have had Perry County and Fayette Academy in the same region for 4 years, that's a good three+ hour trip, so your theory on the BOC not going for that is out the window. I agree that you shouldn't split up Wayne County and Collinwood.

Going back a few years, Union City and Middleton were in the same region and that was a long trip.

They have a chance to create some semi-friendly travel regions...but who knows. I'm sure there are going to be some schools with at least a two hour trip to play a region game regardless of classification.

Greenfield has both Perry County and Middleton on their schedule this season...they may look at that and figure if a school can schedule a non-region game that has a team traveling two plus hours, then it wouldn't be a big deal for a region game.
