JCS pulls out a tough win against West Carroll and USJ beats Fayette Academy decisively. They will meet again in Round 3, with even more on the line this time around.

In their last meeting, the regulation was a shutout, but USJ pulled off to win 6-0 OT. JCS had many missed opportunities and could have won this game but came up short.

Look for JCS to correct its mistakes this week and win. My prediction: JCS 14, USJ 7.

Well I have said all along JCS won that game earlier this season at USJ. I felt like JCS was definately the better team on that night. However, I'm not so sure that they will be next week. JCS struggled last night and came from behind to beat West Carroll. On the other side, USJ was very precise and beat Fayette Academy soundly. I think Ross threw for like 4 or 5 tds. USJ is definately coming in with momentum in this one.

West Carroll is a much better team than Fayette Academy, and I believe we can all agree on that. However, USJ has had an easy path compared to JCS who played teams that had records above .500, unlike USJ who played a horrible Gleason team and a sub-par FA team. Both teams know what to expect of each other this time around, and this one won't go into OT.

Could there be another fireworks show? The last one was amazing and worth the $5 admission fee. That would be awesome!

    • Wanted to see if all of you would lift up Kyle James family in prayer. Kyle was one of the best wrestlers to ever come out of Soddy Daisy and as some of you know he lost his house a few weeks ago and now his family and friends mourns his passing. Not sure if any of you were around in early 2000’s when Kyle was wrestling at Soddy, but he was a 3 time state champ and a Fargo AA along with going to Colorado to train to make the Olympic team. That goal was never reached due to medical issues, but he was an amazing wrestler and his family is as good as gold. If you were around at that time and have any pictures of Kyle, please go onto Alexy Winesburgh FB page and post. Thanks, Doug Benton
    • My opinion the 8 teams will be-  Greenback, Wartburg, Gordonsville, Jo Byrns, Eagleville, Bruceton, Dresden, and South Fulton. Gordonsviile is probably the favorite but I wont say it will be an easy road. With the right draw any of the 8 could win it.
    • I understand Gibson Co. will be announced tomorrow with a familiar name. Not sure about So. Gibson.
    • A huge addition to the staff today! Former Hardin Valley legend and Richmond College running back Aaron Dykes was announced as the running backs coach. Rushed for over 3,000 yards at HVA, with 35 total touchdowns. I loved watching in Hardin Valley. I can’t believe he’s at Bearden now. I know he was trying to get a HVA job, I don’t know what happened there and how he ended up at Bearden, but I'm glad he’s here and believe he will be teaching art class as well! What a good get for the staff!!
    • Thoughts? Gordonsville won it last year with a sophomore pitcher and returned almost everybody. Can anyone beat them?
