As I see it there are 2 or 3 odd balls-central merry, Hardin and henry county in the west and Cookeville, Cumberland, White County in the east. Here is my proposal....

Region 1

1 Tennessee High, Sullivan Central, Dobyns Bennett, Sullivan South, Sullivan East, Volunteer, Daniel Boone, Science Hill

2 Cherokee, David Crockett, Greeneville, Morristown E, Morristown W, Jefferson Co, Cocke Co, Sevier CO

Region 2

3 Campbell County, Clinton, Halls, Central, Powell, Clinton, Oak Ridge, Bearden

4 West, Farragut, South Doyle, Heritage, William Blount, Maryville, Lenoir City, Karns

Region 3

5 McMinn, Walker Valley, Cleveland, Bradley, Ooltewah, Chattanooga Central

6 Warren, COokeville, White, Cumberland, Rhea, Soddy Daisy, Red Bank

Region 4

7 oakland, siegel, smyrna, lavergne, blackman, riverdale, wilson central, lebanon

8 franklin co, tullahoma, coffee county, shelbyville, lincoln co, Columbia, Lawrence Co

Region 5

9 Dickson Co, Hickman co, Independence, Centennial, Franklin, Ravenwood, Brentwood

10 Hillsboro, Hillwood, Overton, Antioch, Glencliff, Stratford, McGavock

Region 6

11 Maplewood, Hunters Lane, Whites Creek, Hendersonville, Beech, Gallatin, mt juliet

12 Clarksville, Clarksville NE, NW, Rossview, Kenwood, Henry Co, Springfield

Region 7

13 Jackson CM, Hardin, Brigton, Munford, Arlington, Collierville, Cordova

14 Millinington, Bolton, Raleigh Egypt, Bartlett, Craigmont, Northside, Kingsbury

Region 8

15 Central, East, White Station, Melrose, Houston, Houston, Germantown

16 Whitehaven, Fairly, Kirby, Wooddale, Overton, Hamilton, Ridgeway

Looks like the fairest division, and cut down on travel, and lack of travel should produce large post season crowds.

Arlington won't play varsity for another two years, I don't think.

I was told that District 14-AAA will definitely be Bartlett, Bolton, Collierville, (maybe Cordova), Germantown, Houston, Millington (insert Arlington when they actually play varsity in a couple of years).

(cue Hallelujah Chorus)

13-AAA should be JCM, Hardin, Brighton, and I have no clue on the rest. Maybe just those three and Henry County. Why did Dyersburg and JNS have to drop and Haywood stay down? lol

Maybe you can help me on this one? Why is Bartlett going to be put in district 14 and not Raleigh-Egypt? I know recently Carter was quoted as saying the districting would be based on geography. Am I mistaken or is this contradictory. It appears that this is based on tradition.

Also it appears that there are going to be a number of schools spending a great amount of time and money on the road for district games. It seems that if the TSSAA was going to propose the Z-plan for football it would make more sense for basketball. Football plays on friday nights only. Basketball must play twice and sometimes three times a week. It seems like it would be easier for small schools to compete in basketball against larger schools than in football. Maybe that was to be the end result if the football version had been passed.

I've been told by multiple people that all the county schools will be in a district together in non-football sports. Aside from Millington, that makes perfect sense geographically too. Raleigh-Egypt fits in well with Craigmont, Northside, etc. in 15 or 16, whichever they want to call it.

I've wanted this for years. It makes so much sense. I believe Opperman is right about Arlington since this year is the school's very first year. Personally, I really hope Cordova is placed elsewhere. I'll live with it either way but it would make my day to never have to go there again.
