mjuhb
the only big change is that memphis districts will have to expand
Opperman
Region 7 13 Jackson CM, Hardin, Brigton, Munford, Arlington, Collierville, Cordova 14 Millinington, Bolton, Raleigh Egypt, Bartlett, Craigmont, Northside, Kingsbury Region 8 15 Central, East, White Station, Melrose, Houston, Houston, Germantown 16 Whitehaven, Fairly, Kirby, Wooddale, Overton, Hamilton, Ridgeway 825431081[/snapback] Arlington won't play varsity for another two years, I don't think. I was told that District 14-AAA will definitely be Bartlett, Bolton, Collierville, (maybe Cordova), Germantown, Houston, Millington (insert Arlington when they actually play varsity in a couple of years). (cue Hallelujah Chorus) 13-AAA should be JCM, Hardin, Brighton, and I have no clue on the rest. Maybe just those three and Henry County. Why did Dyersburg and JNS have to drop and Haywood stay down? lol

espnaddict
Opperman Maybe you can help me on this one? Why is Bartlett going to be put in district 14 and not Raleigh-Egypt? I know recently Carter was quoted as saying the districting would be based on geography. Am I mistaken or is this contradictory. It appears that this is based on tradition. Also it appears that there are going to be a number of schools spending a great amount of time and money on the road for district games. It seems that if the TSSAA was going to propose the Z-plan for football it would make more sense for basketball. Football plays on friday nights only. Basketball must play twice and sometimes three times a week. It seems like it would be easier for small schools to compete in basketball against larger schools than in football. Maybe that was to be the end result if the football version had been passed.
thorough97
Balla, Brainerd is dropping down to AA next year. I don't see the TSSAA putting Cumberland in 6-AAA, it will be either Rhea Co. or Bradley Central going into that District if it still goes with 5 teams in each district. If it goes like Randymc's plan anything possible.

Aside from Millington, that makes perfect sense geographically too. Raleigh-Egypt fits in well with Craigmont, Northside, etc. in 15 or 16, whichever they want to call it. I believe Opperman is right about Arlington since this year is the school's very first year. Personally, I really hope Cordova is placed elsewhere. I'll live with it either way but it would make my day to never have to go there again. Edited November 15, 2004 by Pantherbert
