Why Doesn't TN have Weigh-ins day prior?

Talked to a Former Wrestling coach from MI last night and he said that in MI they send in their weights and line ups to the opposing team the night prior to the match.

I thought that sounded crazy until he told me the logic. He said that they do this so that kids eat health the night and day of the match.

That made sense to me.

Has that ever been considered in TN?

Rigger:  I think that the way to cheat the certification system is cutting about 4lbs under your desired weight and then drinking that weight in water to make up the deficit.  I could be wrong, never had to do that.

That's exactly how you do it, but I wouldn't call that cheating, because it's not against the rules. Even if you were below your minimum predicted weight, they can't force you to gain.

It's simply playing by the rules, as they are. Just like Paul Hamm getting the gold medal.

Yeah, my son had been injured prior to the season and weighed in at 119. If he was eating healthy he would be at 112 right now. We have him on protein shakes and eating anything he wants and he weighs about 115 after practice every day.

The Certification said he could only go down to 116.

It's crazy.

    • Same with Eisfelder from Providence not even getting a look in DII 1A.   But to me the biggest head scratcher is Collins from Lookout Valley. He wasn't even voted the best pitcher or player on his own team, a team that lost like 20 baseball games. Mind blowing.
    • Whispers abound suggesting that Robbie Atwood has been observed surreptitiously shadowing the erstwhile football coach on numerous occasions. Does such conduct align with the standards of acceptability?
    • Is it conceivable that BJ West will maintain his ardor if it necessitates forgoing attendance at his progeny's culminating year of scholastic endeavors? Such a scenario appears implausible upon closer scrutiny.
    • Wartburg heading to state for the first time in school history. Braylen Melton (sophomore) threw a 1 hitter today against North Greene.
    • I havent kept up with Keeton since he went to Oakland, so hearing he is in a BOE role now, that may trump him coming back.  Rennard on the other hand. That dude is a Man Builder! And he was cut loose this spring from Scotts Hill. Heard him in a interview a few months back and he inspired me. He needs to be back home in the Purple & Gold, regardless of if he is HC or not or even if he doesnt coach at all, his presences will improve the environment. But Again, I have no clue if he would even be interested.
