Big regional battle on Thursday night at AC.  I hear that AE is too quick for the Mavs, well we will see.  As long as you can count by 3 you'll be quick enough.

AC 74

AE 64

This will be the game everone see how good the Mavericks really are. I've only seen AE once and don't have a lot to go on, but AC is just on another level right now. This game will be close. I pick AC by 15. Speaking of 15, look for them to make 15 3's. Good luck both Roadrunners and Mavs.

The key will be how AC's guards handle the pressurized defense of AE. No doubt AC can score once they can get it down the court, but AE will try to keep them running and gunning.

Could be an entertaining game.

I agree 100%, whoever does the best job of controlling tempo will win.

Splains is definitely right about this one. If AC can handle the pressure and keep the turnovers to a minimum it could be a great game. AE is by far the quickest team that AC has played this year. AC has never beaten AE, so AE has to be the undisputed favorite going in. It's been a few years since these two have met in the regionals. AE's coming off a close one to Carter. I heard that without the technical and the intentional foul that Carter could have easily won this one........

Wow, I wasn't at the AE/Carter game so I don't know what happen there. I haven't even open the paper to see who won. But with that said, I think AE will surprise the AC folks. A lot of you are saying that the 3 ball will overtake the Roadrunners. You have to remember they can shoot the 3's too. The only thing I have to say about that is, DON'T Leave my cousin open because he'll wang'em too.

I've seen AC play and they didn't impress me so I wouldn't say they'll beat AE by 15. I'll say AE wins this one.

AE is comin off a tough one against Carter where they could have easily lost the game. AC is comin off their most impressive victory against a Scott County team that had been playing well. If AE can keep AC from getting open 3's then they have a great chance. If AC can keep the turnovers down and keep AE from getting easy buckets in transition then they have a great chance. I like AC by 5. 67-62

    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
    • He was pretty darn good for a freshman, but he will have a hard time seeing the field at Oakland for a good while, I’m afraid.
    • Dang I feel bad for the kid. I’m sure he loves his dad and wants to do anything for his dad but I don’t think he realizes his dad isn’t doing the best for his football career if he keeps jumping schools.
    • I’m not taking shots at the kid, but “athlete” is not something I would use to describe him. He was a long, lengthy, defensive back
