If you mean Bailey at Pickett County, look for a small college or juco. Nathan Aaron scored over 3000 points up there and the best he could do was Freed-Hardeman. Plus, now he has quit the team. Both girls and boys players from the upper Cumberland area are getting a rep with college coaches around here for being quitters in college. There have been several this year alone.

If Bailey is a Bryan Richardson then he definately will NOT play at UTC. As soon as Bryan learned that Shulman got the job, he quit! Shulman did not like Bryan's game...at all. I am sorry...Bailey does not have what Shulman wants, and I am not saying that to dis Bailey, but just the opposite...I hope Shulman ends up coaching jr.high girls in two years.

Bailey's problem is going to be his size. I saw him play at Temple and the points he got, he muscled for the shot. But at the D-I level, even mid-major he won't be able to do that, plus the guy guarding him will often be taller than he is. He is a great high school player, college? I dunno...maybe small college or possibly Ju-

co and see what happens. After all, look what Plavich is doing at Charlotte, if Bailey patterned his game like that then he could prove me wrong and I would be glad for him if he did!

Bailey is awesome. He has the best pull up jumper than any one in the state and as good as most people in the nation. Face the facts he can dribble good shoot awesome and has the best j in state no doubt. Trey Hobson of Hume Fogg has most threes in the state he is the best shooter i am sure. Best all around player is JOSEPH BAILEY

Baller 24, You are either Joseph Bailey, his brother, his girlfriend or his mother. Because your evaluation is absurd. Don't be offended, he is good, but I have seen him play and you have proven that your opinion is emotional gobbly gook. His defense is average at best, he doesn't go to the rack at all! He pulls up well, about a 7, his three is very good, about an 8, but he doesn't make his team better, (4). Maybe you are in jr high and he is your hero, then I would understand and cut you some slack.

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
    • No movement on Chester? South Gibson? Gibson County?
    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
