Poor Sportsmanship

I was so dissapointed in the sportsmanship of the Dyersburg fans last night at the District 13AAA Championship game. How can they possible say a #2 team in the state that is undefeated up to that point, playing the #7 team in the state is overrated, when they only get beat by 3. Also when Coach Farris Lowery of the North Side Lady Indians was announced as "Coach of the Year" there were several UGLY things shouted. He is very deserving of this honor. After all this was for the season and his team did go UNDEFEATED. Dyersburg played a great game and should be proud, but obviously their fans don't know how to act as a champion should.

Don't know how many games you have seen between top ranked opponents but every game I have ever been to that a lower ranked team beats a higher ranked team the fans always chant overrated!! Don't agree about the booing of the coach but if that's all they did and your upset you should have checked out some of the other local tournaments(Lake Co. Tourney) and seen what some of those fans said and did!!!

I am glad I was not there. I cannot understand why fans cannot just go and be supportive of their teams. Where has the ole "School Spirit" gone. I guess out the door with manners. I have been around basketball my entire life and love the game. I am always happy to see ahtletes excel. But the fans have gotten totally away from that. Stop all the negative comments and just cheer for your team. There is alot more to sports than just winning.

Dyersburg fans have no sense anyway. Dyersburg and North Side are evenly matched girls teams, and to shout overrat3ed is wrong. North Side won each of the first two games by only 2 points, so last night was not a big upset. Dyersburg fans have no concept of the game, and show up just to yell at the opposing team. These two teams might meet agin in the Region championship. Westview can say anything either, they did not win their district championship.

However Westview is still ranked #1 in the state so it really doesn't matter if they lost the district championship. And on top of that Westview actually has a shot at winning the state title. Jax N has NO CHANCE! Theres NO WAY they will get past Mt. Juliet. So enjoy watching Northside play while you still can because they won't be playing basketball for much longer. If ya got beef with WesCharge then you got beef with me so why don't you get a clue. WesCharge you know I got ya back. By the way how many pukebags do you have for the region tournaments?

    • Eagleville hosting shows laziness on the part of the TSSAA and a complete disregard for the appearance of impartiality. Absolutely nothing against EHS. Its not their fault TSSAA is lazy.    I understand EHS staff work the games at Eagleville, and they don’t want to miss the EHS games. However this isn’t rocket science. It would take less than 1 hour to cross-train EHS and RHS volunteers at the opposite sites. If Eagleville (or any host)  makes the tournament, flip their game site and have the volunteers flip sites for the days their school plays at the opposite site. Magically the school’s fans would be present to watch the their kids play and the kids at least lose some familiarity and home field advantage.  It takes almost no effort and is a ~15 minute extra drive.
    • We feel the pain!
    • Jason Lambert should be the only choice for the Baseball coaching position.
    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
