tonkau
Acceptable slowing the speed of play talkin some smack aggression Unacceptable swearing kicking the ball away after a foul arguing w/ the ref that's just my opinion
OwlsGK30
Agreed, but just know that there is a difference between arguing with a referee, and a captain talking to a referee or respectifully questioning a call.
BigG
This is an example of what is wrong with soccer in America where it has become a sport of a bunch of spoiled brats ferried around in their family's SUV's by their soccer moms while attending private schools. 825615673 Ah, yes... the private school thing. Somehow that always gets dragged into this. I was kind of with you up to this point.

CoachChris
i don't think you should judge a team because they have a foreign coach. your statement about that is very racist. also, that's not really cheating...you see that all the time in games...its just part of the game. sure, its cheap but not cheating. its part of the game that you have to deal with. 825613068 Maybe I missed it.....where is the remark about a foreign coach??? Anderson6395
This post sure has developed a life of its own. My two cents on the Warren Co and PJP game. I enjoyed watching PJP play. They moved the ball well and controlled possession for most of the game. Warren Co plays a very direct game-some times unfortulaty it reverts to kick the crap out of the ball and run. Hopefully that will change with time and with growth of a very young team. I loved the patience that PJP showed when attacking the little intracate(sp) passing and the need not to always play the ball forward in the attack but to show patience and play the ball back to switch the point of attack. In retrospect this game could have been 4-0 PJP but I do feel it could have also been 1-0 or 2-0 Warren Co. But that is from a lack of finishing quality opportunities from both sides. I truely hope that PJP has a successfull season. On a side note I feel pope21 (or whatever it was:) ) that you hurt your teams reputation with crybabyhillbilly comments as posted on this sight. Please don't allow our location or the fact that we are public small town school affect your opinion of us, as I asure you that you being a private school doesn't affect my opinion of you or your team as being a quality team. Let's just play soccer and on the night we played you were the better team 1-0. respectfully Alan Brownyard Warren Co assistant coach
emitreccossti
the cool thing about cheating, including jersey pulling, playing the man instead of the ball and general fouling, is that it usually goes both ways. do what the ref allows...that is soccer. Whitey
With apologies to both PJP II and Warren County this thread was never meant to be about these teams. That is the reason it was started with no names mentioned so that it could be a general discussion about the subject of teams using tactics that at times are and under the right circumstances are breaking the rules for the purpose of gaining an unfair advantage (yes, I call it cheating). The example of the game that was originally cited is one of many games that I have witnessed over the years and could have as easily referenced any of them. So, nothing was ever meant to be taken personally. It was meant to generate a discussion on a particular subject and not about any team. Both teams play with a lot of tenacity and are well trained. For the most part, we have seen how different people feel about this subject. Some of what has been said has been disturbing to me. Soccer as a sport is "under the gun" so to speak as far as High School sports. Most of the complaints about any sport at the AD meetings center around soccer. Like Florida, there have even been discussions at the State meetings about either cleaning up the sport or abandoning it as a High School sport. My take, this is a sport I have a deep passion for and love for the game and it is worth having in our schools. So please, let's keep it on a higher plane so as not to draw unfair complaints from our opponents who would love for nothing better than to see soccer go away.
